I'm at work right now and I've been having "one of those days" today and Mike just text me that Sarge (his 6 year old mix dog that lives with his mom) is being put down tomorrow. I feel really awful that he's not going to get a chance to say good bye. He's been sick for awhile and they didn't think he would make it until Mike got home from Iraq so he's made it longer than they thought but he's still so young!!

Any ideas for cheering Mike up a bit?? I'm at a loss and it's making me really sad :(

:( Make him his comfort food, that's what cheers me up. Comfort food, fluffy blanket, a good movie, and cuddling. I'm sorry Mere, that's awful. Losing an animal is always awful.

awww Mere... I'm sorry. Ares is the first pet I've ever had, so I don't know how that feels. I hope he feels better soon!

i would say if you can suprise him with a pup, BUT i know hes deploying and youre headin home soo idk? but at the same time if you DID get him a pup,it would def cheer him up (and you can name it something related to sarge...major...or something?) and make things more fun for yall before he leaves,AND while hes gone youll have a buddy and a piece of mike ;) having potter (joeys dog-now our dog) has helped me through this deployment SO MUCH more.
so if you can do a pup...do it!!! check out shelters, adopting a pup is always great. and more inexpensive!

if not...the food thing is a good idea! or a 'sexy night' to take his mind of things ;) or a new video game...or just love on him and cuddle lots :)

im sorry mere :( thats SO SAD. and gotta be so hard, i havent lost an animal since i was younger and i was really too little to realize/remember it.

Poor guy is trying not to cry...I've seen him cry 3 times. When he left me to leave for iraq, when he left to go back after r&r and when we said a prayer for his buddies that were KIA at our wedding...and by cry I mean a single tear down the cheek. Sarge was a replacement for his childhood dog who died the day after he got home from basic. He's really hurting but he says it's worse to think about it so maybe sexy time is a good idea lol. I went out and bought stuff for him to make his hamburger helper!! I would LOVE LOVE to get him a pup but we have plans to get one when he gets home from Iraq again so nows just not the time!! So maybe some good comfort food and some sex will cheer him up!!

Thanks girlies!! You're the best!! I really don't know what I would do without you guys!
