Baby shower!

So i am completely excited about block leave on Saturday! (although the obvious sadness of him deploying soon) I have been wanting a trip back to the states for 5 months now ( the entire time ive been prego) YAY! Cravings, here i come( Mongolian chicken from the mall, Chick-fil-a, Moes.. YOu name it, i want it!!) ! lol. Saturday the 4th of April, my mom is throwing me a co-ed baby shower! Zack is totally against having to politic with women of course, and would rather be 4wheeling with his brothers. lol! Im registered at target, and i pray i have everything on there that needs to be. Any suggestions of less obvious stuff that i wouldn't have thought about putting on there, being a first time mommy and all? Also, any ideas for stuff to do at the shower, ive never been to a baby, shower, and neither has my mom... It should be interesting to say the least! You guys always have great suggestions to everything! Thanks for all the help so far!:)

you could play games!!! at my shower we played a game where each person gets a piece of yarn as long as they think it needs to be to measure around my belly! the person with the closest measurement won a prize! we just bought a big thing of yarn from walmart, and that was a fun game to play!!

we also did the safety pin game! where each person gets a saftey pin (they have cute pink and blue ones you can buy) and if anyone said the word baby or the baby's name, they lost their pin, it was fun cause thats all anyone talks about is the baby, we had a blast with it though, the person with the most pins at the end won a prize!

we also played a game, where you get a tray and put like 30 items on it (from baby bottle to baby lotion) keep it hidden and when its time bring it out let everyone look at it for 2-3 mins, then take the tray away and every one has to write down from memory as many items from the tray as they remember, the person who writes down the most items gets a prize!! we had a blast with that game too, we had everything that pertains to a baby on the tray, anything from a bulb syringe to fingernail clippers, it was a blast,

you can also google free baby shower games!! they should have some links where you can print out baby crosswords puzzles and different things like that, congrats hun and i hope you have a wonderful time and get everything your craving, have a safe trip back to the states!!!! big hugs!!

Sherry had very good idea's for the baby shower. We did ALL of those at mine plus a few more. A spin off from the using yarn to wrap atround the belly, we used toilet paper instead. that was you could tear it off and not have to use sissors but both work fine.

We also did a scramble word puzzle. We used words that had to do with babies and mixed the words up..like craddle, pacifier, bottle, crib..etc. The person with the most right after time was up won a prize.

There is another one that I DID NOT do bc I think its gross..lol It's called the "dirty diaper" game. You take like 4 diapers and put different kinds od chocolate in them and melt it. Each person then has to smell the "poop" and see what kinda chocolate it is..lol

haha, we did the dirty diaper game, but we gave each person a diaper when they got there and then told them to look for the dirty surprise whoever had it won a prize, but we squeezed some choc syrup in it haha, oh the memories,

we did a game where each person got a paper plate put it on their head and tried to draw me without looking, then my mom and me judged, it was pretty funny to see all the different messy stick people they drew without looking!! goodluck hun im sure you will have a blast!!

I don't have any sugesstions as far as the shower goes, since my was very very lame..lol.

But a couple of things I bought when we had Gabe I wish they had when I had my first. One is the bumbo seat. Now I know you can't use it until the baby is about 3-4 months but I loved that thing. I also loved baby legs, they are like leg warmers. Makes diaper changes super easy!!! Those are not necessary but it was worth the investment.

If it is a co ed shower you can use some games that engage teh boys... When we threw a shower for Darcie I found this game that took like 5-6 bottles (thats how many guys there were) and filled them with beer you could also use applejuice or whatever.. and lined them all up with bibs and made them CHUG the bottles (secretly it is super hard to suck from the bottles) and who ever finished first won.

DIAPERS! They also have these amazing bottles for babies... the hole is like on top not in the middle of the nipple... that way its more close to sucking on a real nipple... it ssupposed to help with cholic kids? maybe you should look into getting some of them! they have them all over, even walmart

im so stoked for your shower! i cant wait to see you!! ill be taking a million bagillion pics no doubt! just think its been almost exactly a year since i saw you in germany! i miss you girl!
britt and i have been talkin ab gifts ;) and we are def riding together. i wish jonesboro wasnt so far so i could stay and hang longer/see you more while youre home!

Tanya and I went to college together! (or brittany whatever her name is ha, she goes by both) her,me,katie,and brittany (other brittany lol) all roomed in a suite together in the dorms! this was 05-06. we havent really seen eachother SINCE college. although while i was in germany last year tanya and her husband came to see joey and i since they were stationed there and a coulpe hours away! it was AWESOME to see them!
so this past weekend was her baby shower while they were home on leave! brittany and i live close to eachotehr so we drove ab an hour together to go! we met our other room mate katie there!
so we all 4 got together for the first time SINCE college, ver very cool! we played games,ate food, caught up and watched her open gifts!

now 3 of us are married, 2 are army wives,and one has their first baby on the way! CRAZY!

the next day tanya and her husband, britt and her husband,and me (all alone,damn deployment) went to Cheesecake Factory and it was YUMMY! great time. i just wish we had more time to hangout before they go back to germany :( but it was SO GOOD to see her!
