I received this email from Jason this morning and I really think you all need to read it. I should post it in news but I feel that this is something that we all need to read and follow up on.
The President is considering proposing a plan in which veterans themselves would pay for treatment of service related injuries through their private insurance companies. Articles on the topic can be found at:

FOX: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/03/17/vets-group-blasts-obama-plan-private-insurance-pay-service-related-health-care/
Veterans of Foreign War: http://www.vfw.org/index.cfm?fa=news.newsDtl&did=4961
Please consider the President’s words from his speech to a joint session of congress on Feb 24, 2009:
As we meet here tonight, our men and women in uniform stand watch abroad and more are readying to deploy. To each and every one of them, and to the families who bear the quiet burden of their absence, Americans are united in sending one message: we honor your service, we are inspired by your sacrifice, and you have our unyielding support. To relieve the strain on our forces, my budget increases the number of our soldiers and Marines. And to keep our sacred trust with those who serve, we will raise their pay, and give our veterans the expanded health care and benefits that they have earned.
While his proposal is already encountering strong bipartisan opposition and will most likely never even make it to a vote, it is disheartening that the administration would even considers such a notion, especially when it is working tirelessly to bail out corporations suffering from years of bad business practices as well as individuals who chose to live above their means.
