I know this is completely random, but seriously... do you ever feel like people treat you different cause of your relationship status???

I just went to the store and my entire track team was out buying stuff to have a bar b q out at the big lake here. One of the girls invited me out of Pity... I saw them all, minded my own business, she came up to me and goes the track team is going out to the lake you can come if you want. ANd I was like who all is going, she said everyone was invited at practice earlier... so I asked her why I was just now finding out and she told me "we just figured since you are engaged you wouldnt want to go anyways"

SERIOUSLY... just because I am engaged doesn't mean I dont have a life... ugghhh. Have people ever treated you differetnly cause you were the engaged or married one in the group?

I went to a party tonight and was the only one there by myself. And even though they were all my friends I felt completely isolated. Sucked. I don't know why people act so messed up.

That's how I am now too
The closer the wedding gets, the less my friends invite me out
Eh, whatever though
My almost husband is more important to me than going out with you anyway so Humph lol

Idk about you guys but sometimes I'd ditch my civi friends to wallow in my own sorrows and I can see why they wouldn't always invite me but it always irritated the crap outta me cuz I'd want to go out the nights i wasnt invited :( and now I just dont do anything lol

I can agree with the kids part! Since I had Lexie at 16 I was neverrrr invited to any of the high school parties and what not..lol I didn't have my first drink till I was 18! It wasn't till the past few years I started hanging out with everyone again. Now that lexie is older and her dad gets her everyother weekends I can have a life outside of the house..lol

Mike says that ALLL the time about his friend! He's like I'm not gunna invite them they have a kid! I'm like ok so we don't go to a restaurant for dinner if they don't want to you can still invite them over here!! They'd probably like to get out of the house you know!

And Kristi I got that a lot too. Or just plain old people who would look at me strange and think I was nuts for being in college and getting married. It's like you want to scream it's none of your damn business so don't treat me any different!

Sorry they're leaving you out of stuff...thats extremely ridiculous cause it's not like JM is around to hang out with you anyway!! BAHHH! I'm annoyed for you!

It is annoying. I mean It would be nice to just get invited out ya know.. Ill be the one to decide if I want to go or not... geez. You don't have to treat me differently. Last year I hung out with these ppl all the time... and this year its like I dont even exist...

When I had kids I lost most of my friends. They just stopped talking to me and when they did make plans with me they usually blew me off. So I made friends with people who had kids.
Then when I got together with Tom it started all over again. I spend time with just a couple people now but it's so infrequent that I said screw it and just started going out by myself. I invite people to meet up with me but if they don't show screw 'em. I would rather be out feeling awkward than sitting home being miserable.

I have no friends. All of my friends had kids or were married, then when I moved we parted ways. So when I met new people no one was married or had kids. It's a lose lose situation for me.

I never get invited anywhere, it's either because I do not smoke/drink or because I have kids.

I can so relate to this one! I don't know what it is, but most of the people I have met have used this excuse not to invite me to whatever they are doing. Do they not realize that I have a built-in babysitter?? Hello!! My son is always asking me to leave the house so he can babysit and get paid moolah!! I just don't have any reason to go out, dang it!
