Has anyone ever tried to do an EROD from Germany? My husband is comming up on orders for deployment and we are currently in Illesheim, Germany. If you have never been there, dont bother, its HORRIBLE! I have been to LOTS of bases in Germany, and Illesheim is by far the most depressing. I am 5 months pregnant and on the verge of a nervous breakdown due to homesickness. If my husband deploys i want to EROD. The colonel fully supports my decision. Has anyone ever had problems ERODing during a Deployment?

I am not sure what that Acronym is. As far as I know, you should not have a problem with coming back to the states. There was one spouse who went back to the states, and she didn't have a problem that I am aware of. Sorry I am not much help. You should do fine though.

Are you talking about going to the states while he is deployed and then coming back? The lady I was referring to in my last message came back for a visit, but she did not stay so I don't know. It's been awhile since we were in Germany ('94) so I don't know what the regs say now. Like I said, sorry, not much help.

E.R.O.D. Early Return of Dependents... I wont be able to come back to Germany when he gets back from the deployment. Our plan is for him to put in a recruiting packet while he is overseas, so that when he gets back to Germany, he will just clear, and go to Recruiting school from there. If it doesn't work out liek that, than i will just have to tough it out for another year alone in the states.
