Deployment Money?

How do you handle your money when your man is deployed?

Before Bruce left we set up a separate account for him and put an allotment into it every month with an amount we both agreed upon. He didn't want to worry about taking money from the house account and leaving me short.

Now when something extra comes up he can always take a little more out of our main account after letting me know. He does pay his own bills from his account though. His Vonage and Internet. Yes I said after we talk about it. I do not make him ask for his own money like some spouses do. Bruce's buddy is always asking his wife and it seems like she never wants to give him any.

Geese, he's a grown man and it's his paycheck to start with. As long as they don't want too much where you can't pay the bills.

yea thats dumb. scott and i have one account. and he knows better then to take anything without asking if ive payed all the bills and gotten everything i need before he starts to spend.

That's great that he pays attention and doesn't take money out before he should Regina. That's why we did the 2 accounts though because Bruce was really worried about that and they sure don't need added worries.

We have two accounts right now....
On with both our names on it and One with him and his mom's name on it b/c they had that from when he was still in HS. It's still open b/c she's paying his jeep out of that account (it's on her credit card b/c he didnt' have one at the time he bought it and my credit wasn't high enough yet)
When he gets home on R&R we're goign to add my name to his account with his mother and then he's goign to set up an allotment to put stuff into our account

i have tims checks and give him just what he needs he goes crazy and we always ended up short on stuff that was important so now i have to manage him

Whenever Mike is stateside he asks to be given an allowence for the week because if he doesn't have one they he will spend spend spend. I handle all of the bills and everything all of the time though. And as far as deployment money we have bought new furniture and put a lot in savings!!

we have a joint account and I have a seperate account. I'm in charge of all the bills and he gets his allowance every month. I have my own allowance so I can buy stuff for the house and the kids. Plus I have a seperate allowance so I can splurge on myself.
