Pre-Deployment

So...last time Ry deployed, he had a few days of leave in Mississippi where you could go up there. He's said before that sometimes they go back home, but at other times it's like that where the families go to wherever they are for training.

When your men have left did you go to them or did they come to you before they actually deployed? Or are there any cases where you just didn't see them at all post training/pre deploying?

My hubby went to LA so it might be different. He went for training and came home, then went on a 30 day block leave a few days later. About 2 weeks after block leave he left on deployment.
I know his friend is in the reserves and he went for training in LA and left on deployment right after, the good bye to family/friends was right before he left for training.

My husbands 1st deployment he went away for 2-3 weeks to bragg for field training. then He came back to us, We were living at knox back then. SO my kids and I were living with him. We were able to take 2 wks leave and go home to visit family before the actual deployment.

This time we are in germany, My husband had pre-deployment leave which for him was 4 weeks since he had enough time saved up. We didn't go home to the states, But other people did. I dropped him off the night that they were loading buses to head to their next destination before traveling to afghanistan.

thanks ladies. He said he's not sure yet if he'll have a small leave before he goes....it will kill me if he doesn't bc I was expecting him to this time like he did last time.

i didnt get to see joey period :( but only because he was stationed in germany (and when they did training it was there) and i was still living here so..yeah. the only time he got to come home was on RnR! unless we went to him in germany (which I did, but only once).
it was tough!

mike got a two week leave when he was done with training but he only took a week of it and i went to colorado to see him over my spring break. let me tell you, best spring break ever! a

So generally you guys went to see them if you saw them at all. Hmm.

Mike got to come home for a month before each of his. The first time I was away at school and his family is split so I didn't get him for much of it. But he came home and then deployed like 2 weeks later. This last time we went home on their normally scheduled summer block leave for a month and then he didn't deploy for another 2.5 months after that.

I think it depends on the time of year and the training schedule. It seems to me that they're all different! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get a nice long one!

Sooo....after realizing he wouldn't get a pass, I broke down in hysterics...I think it was just adding to the already crazy stress...
Either way, we figured out that I would ride up with his parents before he leaves. But, since no pass, we're just gonna sit in the PX parking lot...
There goes the quality time I wanted to spend alone with him! Haha. I guess I shouldn't complain. I'm glad i even get to see him at all...but i can't help but to be a little bummed...

MAJOR BUMMER :( I'm so sorry ans!!! Im glad you get to see him, period- but its okay to feel bummed, i would too!
