Even though I'm a little grumpy at the moment I DID finish MIL's afghan this morning!! Well almost, I have to weave in the loose ends but that doesn't take long, all the knitting is done!
The picture doesn't do the color justice because I took it on my cell and my apartment has the worst lighting ever but you'll get the idea!

ugh nothing worth being grumpy over!
I've learned a lot from knitting classes! I'm making a hat...and it's HUGE lol so that will have to wait till I go back to class cause I don't want to finish it if it's not going to fit anyone.
But I've gained 3 things from it, I'm learning a lot about knitting and it's also fueling my stress relief gets my mind off things and I've met some (older) ladies to spend some time with. Probably won't see any of them out side of knitting but it's nice to have some ladies to chat with. Making friends as an adult is rather hard as I've complained to you before :)

It looks great Mere, I have no talent whatsoever when it comes to this stuff. :)

Thanks! I'm glad I picked it up! I love to sew but fabric is sooo much more expensive. I certainly don't buy the nice yarn (which all the ladies commented on in knitting club on Friday lol) but I can afford the cheap fake stuff. The stuff in the knitting shop is sooooo pretty and soft but I just can't fork over 15 dollars a skein when its takes so much yarn to make things! I'll buy nice yarn one day. But Mike and I have some other priorities first :)

lol yes sherry a skein is a ball of yarn :)
And thanks Jessie!!
Oooh Mere, it's so pretty!!
You should check out 100purewool. It's really soft and nice yarn but it's only like $6 a skein I think. It comes from Uruguay though so it takes like a month to get it.

haha that's awesome! I'll have to check it out!!
There's other stuff too but you're better off looking online. Local yarn stores are SO expensive. Cascade 220 isn't bad and alpaca is always soft. Are you on ravelry?

THATS what they were talking about! I thought the teacher told me to look at Bravelry - no I'll have to check it out now!! lol Guess Mike's bad hearing is rubbing off on me! Thank you for clearing that up! I do like the local yarn shop. Their yarn is beautiful and some day I may splurge for something nice but right now....just not in the wallet.
Thanks Erin!
I'm not sure how it is now, but when they first started you had to get an invite otherwise you'd be waiting for months to join. So if you can't join like immediately let me know and I'll send you an invite!

I'm in! they sent me a link almost immediately...I've been perusing all day :) I've been looking at sweater patterns (not QUITE ready to tackle that - plus I want to buy nice yarn so I actually wear it.) Mike keeps telling me "i liked the first one" lol sooo I think I'll attempt it one of these days...I think I may try fingerless gloves first - I want to learn to cable.
On a random note - they have an intimate apparel link....WILLIE WARMERS?! haha WOW Woolen Jock Straps...I got a good giggle that's for sure :)

LMAO that's hilarious.
The stuff you find in peoples attics/drawers is either really cool, really creepy, or really hysterical!!
