Everyone/Anyone being effected by Hurricane Irene

my power flickers occasionally but its just rain and low winds here. My father in law who is out in the countryside a little more has no power but they're good. My family in NJ is flooded but safe. My parents have some water in their basement and my grandparents have over 2 feet in some areas of their basement. My cousin and his fiance live on the Jersey shore and were forced to evacuate, they said all of the southbound lanes on the parkway were closed down and they were using ALL of the highway lanes to let traffic flow north.

Hope everyone else is safe and sound!! :bighug: to everyone whose stuck cleaning up the mess!

reporting in from Jacksonville NC we lucked out that one the category dropped from a 3 to a 1 and that 2 she decided to come on land more north of us(I think it hit on the resort area my parents like to come and visit us about 2 hours north which is sad since I love that area) We did evacuate even though it wasnt necessary but I got to see my in-laws which was a plus and we didnt have 3 dogs boarded inside the house with no easy access to the backyard. No damage done to our house just some downed branches and a bunch of leaves everywhere, some of my plants where stripped of leaves it was nuts. We even had power back when we came home on Sunday. After the craziness of the Tornado I am glad this wasnt too bad!

I spoke with my mom earlier. The flooding is so bad where they are she's out of work likely until NEXT Tuesday!! My aunt and uncle own a business and said the water is lapping at the front door of their new office. And my MIL is in Rutland VT, they have 1 road in/out of the city and they're air lifting food in! Again, everyone is safe and sound just very flooded.

Holy crazy weather this year!
