Knowing the system, and getting frustrated when there's nothing he can do and I understand but I hate it!

At least once a month.

yup... that was the deal... One of us was staying in... and he said it was him.
What's some advice for a new wife going through their first deployment?
The first month is the hardest. Once you get into a routine, and he gets into a routine, it's a whole lot easier! Keep your spirits up, and head down in prayer!

Whats the best thing about being a military wife?
Knowing that my husband is my hero, and learning to appreciate him more and more each day. I am able to serve my country even though I am no longer on active duty. It’s not just the husbands that serve when they enlist. It's the entire family.
Whats the worst?
Because I was enlisted I know what crap goes on and what other ranks try to pull. Also, seeing what has happened to the Army since I got out. They are very lax on their procedures and discipline.
How many deployments have you survived?
Many different deployments including:
2..Bosnia (but that was not really like it is now)
2..Iraq
going on 1 to Afghanistan next month
Do you send care packages?
Not all the time. About once a month.
Do you go to the commissary on payday?
Yep. I go early in the morning when hardly anyone is there.

It’s not he is a lifer. It is “we” are lifers.
What's some advice for a new wife going through their first deployment?
ROUTINE, ROUTINE, ROUTINE! I can not stress it enough. You will have days you will want to hide under your covers and not come out. Eventually you will have to come out for air. Just take it slow, minute by minute. Pretty soon minutes turn in to hours, and hours to days. Before you know it months have gone by and you are planning his homecoming.

I would have to say, even though I'm not married, I feel like I am, but I would have to say the Pride. Sounds lame, but as Mere said, I am married to a real hero. Every husband is a hero in his wife's eyes, but a Service member is an American Hero. I'm probably not wording that right, but you get my drift. LOL

For me, dealing with the affects of after deployment. The deployment for me was easy. It's what I am dealing with now that is almost unbearable.

how horrible am I? I know nothing :( but it's not my fault because he hasn't told me anything..lol Like i've said before, we've never gotten more than 10 minutes to talk on the phone except when they were in Hawaii awhile back. If you can, send me Scott's address and I'm gonna hold onto that just incase I can't get ahold of J. Next time I talk to him I'm gonna ask him but if for some reason I can't get it I'll use Scott's.
