:( If only I could be reading... I'm in college so I read whatever boring book they tell me (sometimes). Buuuut... I just finished "The Thirteenth Tale" and it was an AMAZING book. I read it within a day because it was so good!

I just finished Fool by Christopher Moore.
Now I'm reading a book I got from Tom. Bless him but he reads the most simple books. It's Appaloosa by Robert B Parker. It's a cowboy story with gun fights and blood and some old west workin girls. lol! Typical boy reading. But it's his and it makes me happy to have it.
After this I dunno what's next. Any suggestions? Should I cave and read Twilight?

Meredith

I'm reading Deadly Deceptions, it's the 2nd book in a two part mystery/romance series by Linda Lael Miller (the first is Deadly Gamble). It's probably right up your alley Jessie!! It's got ghosts in it!! :D lol...not the scary kind they're good ghosts!!

Yes, that is what we all want to do...

We read beowolf out loud in play form in high school. On good days we actually acted it out...I guess you can do that with a class of 5 though

Erin i have that book! I love her work!! lol...I just started Perfect Match, I'm over half through already!

That's a good one too!! My favorite, I think, is Plain Truth. I'm not sure though, I haven't read one that I disliked. Actually, if I ranked them, The Tenth Circle was my least favorite...still better than most though!!

Another author to check out is Emily Giffin. Her style isn't anything like Jodi, they are more girly girl books...but I love her writing.

Jessie.Rose
03-04-2009, 12:01 AM
if i ranked them picture perfect would be least favorite so far....

Lana
03-04-2009, 12:15 AM

03-04-2009, 06:53 AM
I think books like Beowolf totally depend on the reader. You have to be willing to get into it and understand what is going on to like it.

I started reading Agony and Ecstasy (about 5 times now) but the one time that I really focused and got into it, I loved it.

I am reading posts on this website...ok, smart ass answer. I am reading
White Witch, Black Curse by Kim Harrison, but I don't know if it is any good because I JUST started.
And I am waiting for someone to return The Keepsake by Tess Gerritson. She is an awesome author if you love mystery/crime novels.

i dont read fiction books, my mom has all of the debbie mccomber books shes been trying to give them to me for 3 years, telling me id love them, but i read stuff that actually happened in life! i have all the books that are linked to the laci peterson murder, the book her mom wrote "FOR LACI" was just sad and it truely showed what kind of woman lacy was, so tragic, but it actually set the story straight instead of all those stupid tabloids!!

~SaBrInA_lEiGh~
03-10-2009, 02:34 AM
i love the book we were soldier and we were young i think its called if you ever saw the movie the book is like way way better... and i personally loved the movie

Meredith
04-08-2009, 01:36 PM
SEALed with a Kiss....which is about a SEAL lol and its ok so far. I'm almost to the end of the book and I'm not sure if there's a point. The cover is pretty hot though ;)

I just finished Wolf River by Jill Gregory which was really good! It's a love story/mystery sort of. I think those are my favorite

When I head to the library today I'll be looking for Thunder something by Jill Gregory, it's the first in one of her series and the 2nd book in the Montana Creeds series by Linda Lael Miller.

I like house wife porn - I enjoy being able to read brain rot instead of text books!

Lana
04-08-2009, 05:36 PM
Loooove the Creeds!!! Julie Garwood has good books too, Mere!!

Meredith
04-08-2009, 10:43 PM
bahhh Lana did you read Dylan yet?!?! The library doesn't have it yet and they didn't have it in stock at the book store so I've only read Logan!! But I'm itching for the new one!! Have you read the McKettericks?? LOVED EM! I just picked up Sierra's home coming...

I'll have to check out Julie Garwood, the library I go to is tiny and I'm running out of stuff I like to read quick! I'm weird about new authors...I hate to get something I won't like so I tend to stick to one or two authors.

Lana
04-08-2009, 11:22 PM
I do the same thing, big time. I don't know which one about the Creeds I've read - but I've definitely LOVED the McKettericks!!! Last Chance Cafe was really really amazing, I think that was a connected story line!

Meredith
04-08-2009, 11:30 PM
hmm I'll have to look into it! It seems like most of her's run into one another at some point! The McKetterick "series" is like never ending...shes got side stories everywhere!

Meredith
04-08-2009, 11:57 PM
ps they just released Tyler from the creed series too! So they're all out now....better get on those.

I just finished SEALed with a Promise....it was ok. I've read better. It was kinda long for a story that didn't have much of a plot, once or twice I was trying to figure out where it was going. I enjoyed it enough though!

MrsJoey
04-09-2009, 08:19 AM
i just finished the House of Night Series- LOVED IT!

I finished the Twilight series--up to the last book that is. I loved it. My daughter got me hooked on the series.

Meredith
04-09-2009, 12:51 PM
Lana, ever read Diana Palmer?? I started one of her books last night and got half way through it in like 3 hours! It's a quick easy read and she keeps you wanting more!! I read a double book last summer and they weren't bad but she didn't hook me, but this one is really good so far!!! It's called Law Man! She's a good mystery/thriller writer with the romance in there too! Most of her books are about some type of law enforcement - usually FBI!

MrsJoey
04-22-2009, 03:29 PM
i just got one of my friends to TRY reading the House of Night books, she was resistant but i told her to try...she did.. (this was last week) and shes starting the last book today haha ;) its awesome. if you're cravin some vamp stuff after twilight READ THESE.

mere which books by Diana Palmer do you recommend? im almost done with the book im reading *which is fantastic but i cant remember the title OR the author, ill post later* and i need a new one! im constantly reading but ive gone through my book collection so im strugglin!

MrsJoey
04-23-2009, 08:39 AM
okay so the author is Alice Sebold and i just got done reading two of her books:

"Lucky" and "Loveley Bones"

theyre a little twisted...rape,murder, trials, ect. but i read em quick-they were hard to put down. and 'Lucky' is a HER true story about being raped in college, what she went through, nailin the guy through trial, ect.

if you're into true stories, psychological stuff, ect these books are AWESOME and i highly recomend them :)

MrsJoey
05-13-2009, 10:12 AM
ANYONE reading anything good right now? im out once again lol

Meredith
05-13-2009, 10:20 AM
I'm finishing up the creed series by linda lael miller.. I finally got my hands on 'em lol. I'm debating if I want to stray from my crappy romance novels to try angels and demons and the divinici code. Mike says they're really good. Just not sure if they're my style. I've also considered re reading some of the stuff I read in high school that was decent...To Kill a Mockingbird, Catcher in the Rye, Huck Finn....you know the stuff you couldn't be bothered with that probably isn't half bad hahaha

Let me know what you pick! I'm going to need some to take on the plane next month!

MrsJoey
05-13-2009, 10:24 AM
i may do davinci code/angels&demons

i read angels and demons in highschool and really liked it, for some reason davinci code was hard for me to get into. i may go get some trashy novels lol. i need to look into this creed thing-ive seen you and lana mention it!

Meredith
05-13-2009, 02:00 PM
If you like trashy romance novels seriously the Creed Series is good and so it the McKetterick series....there are some spin offs she wrote about the McKetterick series too. I like them! lol

Meredith
05-13-2009, 04:41 PM
Any good Spahr?!

Kelly, one you might like is Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld

I read it a longg time ago...it was a summer read while I was in college I think. It was a cute little coming of age story about a girl at a prep school. Not the smutt type but still a cute story! I hope I still have it, I may add it to my read again list.

HA HA.. I am reading "I think she's gonna blow" it's about Mom's and anger.. lmao.. Not that I need to but it is great reading about controlling your frustration with your kids and how to "enjoy" your time with them more instead of being so frustrated.

MrsJoey

'Mrs.Lieutinant:A Sharon Gold Novel' by Phyllis Zimbler Miller --> this one is based in the Vietnam era and follows wives (cant remember if its true or not..)

So I'm not sure if this series has been said or not but the Sookie Stackhouse series is supposed to be the adult version of twilight or have a feel similar to Twilight anyways. I haven't checked em out yet but its a 9 book series by Charline Harris and they are the Southern Vampire Mysteries. Oh and the HBO series true blood is based on them? Idk if anyone else has read/heard of it but if you have what do you think?!

MrsJoey
