I'm from New England and well out there we are so used to snow we don't have any special snow shoes or anything. We just wear regular winter jackets and sneakers or boots, gloves, hats and scarves. I know a few years back Ugg boots were popular and I had a pair of Timberlands once that I loved. As far as jackets Columbia makes a heavy duty jacket. Me I just get one at Walmart..lol.

Ugg boots are not water proof but super warm (i wear mine in the snow thought). As fars as jackets The North Face and Columbia are amazing.... they probably have boots too.

Spahr, really, ha I'm glad I never bought a pair. I know they were super popular before I left MA and I figured since everyone was wearing them they were waterproof..lol.

I'm in California ~ no snow where we live. But if I needed to shop for snow-clothes, I'd probably start at Eddie Bauer! We were there just a week or so ago to get some black gloves I could use for winter biking and they had some amazing jackets and coats! I also got a cute red-and-white rugby shirt that I'd been looking for FOREVER.

I feel for you! I have been in Washington my whole life and I HATE the rain. We get a lot of it around here! I really like my north face rain coat. It has a fleece liner in it so I stay nice and warm. I live in western wa When it rains here its usually like 40 degrees out so it is just miserably cold and wet. What part of WA are you moving to? Anywhere is western WA you probably will not see much snow. When it does snow here, it lasts for like a day, then melts.

Fort Lewis is near Tacoma, I didn't realize you were out in Spokane....but Tacoma gets very little to squat for snow so I was confused for a moment ;)

I'm with Kira being from the North East....(Kira, Mike makes sure I know I'm not from New England lmao) just whatever warm boots and jacket you can find at walmart will be fine. You can get the jackets that have the fleece lining and the shell those are nice cause you can convert them in milder weather depending on what you need. Expanding on Jessie...always keep extra socks in your purse :) You never know when your feet will get wet and soggie from slush, boots or no boots!

@ Kira yup they're not water proof and water actually can stain and ruin UGGS unless u spend the 80 bucks for a tiny bottle of "water resistant" spray stuff

I had a pair of Columbia boots when I worked at a ski resort... they were AWESOME!!!

I bought a big warm jacket I'm hoping will work.. and I decided to just look for boots once I get to Spokane end of November.. that way I can see what will work for me... I hear a lot of people get used to bring extra shoes, and sweaters, and socks with them... It's kind of a weird concept for me.. the only extra things I ever used to carry with me was a bikini hahaha But I'll look into Northface, and Columbia, and Eddie :) Thank you

unfortunately most winter gear is :( You can find like the champion version of northface stuff at target. It's just as warm and comfy with like a 1/4 of the price...and no logo of course :)

I think I have to invest in a new winter jacket myself this year...I didn't wear mine in WA (I was used to wayyyy colder weather than they get out west) I bought it when I was 17 and I'm not sure if fits very well any more. Mike and I were actually talking about having remote starts put in the trucks since we're moving back to a colder/snower climate.

OH MY GOODNESS... the remote start to the car is AMAZING it's all ready and toasty when you get in... we want to get it because were both from cali we don't mix well with snow haha but a friend of ours had it we were so jealous.. its the coolest thing it would definitely be worth the investment!! & I saw that Target brand but was unsure if its as warm.. I don't care about the logo... I just need all the warmth I can get.. & I just Saw a bunch of great winter jackets at Costco.. I got a gray Wool one... for only 60 bucks!
