Do any of you have ideas for keeping a 18 month old entertained? We have our routine everyday and I try to plan something fun every couple of days but I am running out of ideas. With fall and the holidays coming do any of you have ideas to make them extra special?

At 18 months my kids were just happy to look forward to a walk or just some play time with me at home. Good luck! :)

A play group is a great idea. Also most libraries have story times which are free and it gets you out of the house. I used to take my boys to the park a lot. The park where we used to live had a petting zoo and we also had a mini zoo that was really cheap. Depending where you live you could go to an apple orchard and pick apples or a pumpkin patch.

my son is 2, him and i have car races, and we chase each other around the house, jump on the trampoline, trip to the park (which is right across the street from us) we go for walks, watch mickey get up and dance we have lots of fun together. we go outside and kick the ball then race to get it. when i get tired i throw lots of toys in the playpen and he sits and plays for a little while. he likes pop up books so i taught him to play peekaboo with the book, he will flip say 1 2 peekaboo and flip the page. that keeps him entertained for a while. at most 45 mins. he loves to sit in the floor with a pile of pop up books. he likes to play with those big legos, ive even put him in his high chair given him animal crackers and helped him learn to count with them. he now counts to 10. finger paint with the yogurt, i put a little food coloring in it so he can eat it he likes that i draw with him on the tray he scribbles with it but has fun. when cooking lunch i made a dance like tonight we were browning hamburger meat he was on my hip i said and we chop chop chop chop chop and i was bending my legs bouncing he laughed, then we were stirring and i shook my whole body saying and we mix mix mix mix mix he laughed so hard and was trying to say the new words! him and i have so much fun together!!

These are all great ideas! We go on walks, to the park, and we have our inside playtime but I am always looking for ideas to get out of the house. She loves to people watch and be out and on the go, but she hates her stroller. She is starting to entertain herself pretty well now so that helps a lot.

When my daughter hits 18 months there's a dance/music class I want to get her involved in that's pretty cheap. Also my moms cat just had kittens and she loves following them around. Haha of course pumpkin patch. We are going to a farm that has a corn maze and doeas hayrides and a train and duck races and a petting zoo.

I just found a magazine that list all of the free/cheap events happening around our area and I am super excited to do some of them. I will have to research where there is a close pumpkin patch, I am sure they have them around I am just not sure where they are.
