So, DH never got his individual orders to Iraq, but is still going. He's in Kuwait now. Does this happen often? I know I should have a copy of his orders but...he doesn't have any...?? Will this effect any of his pay entitlements like FSP or HDP?

you totally should have orders before he went! I'd get in touch with your frg or rear d and see if they can get you a copy. I'm sure they have them they just never got to you. Mike's "individual" orders were 2-1 cav's orders with a list of each of the guys in all the plts attached to it...they weren't very individual lol.

Haha! Thanks, I'll do that. I know that John's SGT told them their orders would be online on the DAMPS-CTCS site. Most of them were except a few of the newer guys. His SGT had a meeting about it, too, but he told them they were still going even if no orders were up and that they would get their orders once they got there...??? I'll ask my frg leader about it, though. Good idea.

Trust me I doubt hes over there without some type of orders lol. They have him on record somewhere which means he should be getting his extra benefits as soon as he's in country. I would def check with frg or rear d though. Like I said mines basically a general order with a list of names attached to it that Mike bought home from work one day.

Is John new to the unit?

Somewhat new. We've been here since mid-May and I think he reported around the 23rd-24th. So, not really new, but new enough, I guess. We didn't get here until after the unit left for NTC, so he was with rear d for a few weeks before he got assigned to a squadron and platoon, then he was moved to a different platoon when they were trying to even platoons out for the deployment. Some are going, some aren't. He was originally put into a tanker platoon, but now he's in a scout platoon. I know it wasn't too too long after we got here that all of that happened, but he's been with this platoon for probably 1 1/2 months, I'd say.

and already deployed that's pretty quick! yikes. like I said I'm sure there are orders of some sort somewhere. just keep on frg/rear d to get you a copy :) After his first paycheck you'll be able to see what entitlements he is/isn't getting and they'll have an s1 office over there that he can go talk to to straighten things out if need be.

and woo hoo to another scout wife ;) is he a 19d?? Mine would bleed cavalry yellow if he could ...funny to think the man has never been on a horse haha.

Absolutely!! Go 19D!! :cheer:
Yea, it was quick but we expected it. We expected October at the latest, but were prepared for August. I e-mailed my frg leader and she said she didn't know but that she passed my e-mail on to the CPT, so hopefully I'll get some answers soon. Just found out that I can't have my lawn taken care of while he's gone without them and I really don't want to mow the lawn more than I have to in this damn TX heat!! lol!

You will want to keep an eye on the LES to see if your DH's pay is correct. (My wonderful DH has already deployed 6 times to Iraq and his pay has been incorrect every single time ... so far!)
