So I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this question but I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for moving companies, or know which ones the army generally uses?! Since we got married after my husband graduated basic and got his orders for AK they weren't going to pay to move "our" stuff up (especially because it's across the border) instead just his stuff under they amount for a single soldier. So when I moved up there last winter I didn't bring much and my mom sent up a number of Rubbermaid totes (which cost an arm and a leg). While we were up there we just used the Army lending closet for some of our furniture and bought some other little pieces here and there. The problem is I still have alot here at home that I want up there and this time when I go up I want to bring it all because we plan on settling for at least a year or more. I am having difficulty finding a place that will move my stuff all the way up there and have also thought about driving a U-Haul up but the price is outrageous for both options!
I thought about getting my stuff stateside to see if that is easier, and I can get it to my SIL's house in Maine no problem. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of moving or transport companies that they may have used (wether the Army paid for it or not).

we looked into renting a trailer and wound up buying one using it and then selling it cause it was actually cheaper lol...the army didn't pay for me either :( My best suggestion is just to research the crap out of it. Call every place you can find and get their rates. If you're moving back up to AK it's probably gunna be a little pricey :( Most places charge by the mile...but it'll probably be cheaper than paying for it piece by piece. Sorry I don't have any more info for you!! Hope you find something that won't break the bank!!
