Hi everyone, My name is Heather. I am just recently married (02-07-10) and since about a month after the wedding me and my husband have been separated. He was re-stationed from New River, NC to Okinawa Japan. Now, nearly 5 months later- I am HOPEFULLY finally getting approved to go over (we're on the last leg of approvals. It is circulating through IPAC now, and after that I get to pick my flight date.) I'm excited to finally be with him again in a few weeks. I decided to join MTMH because someone I went to high school, who now is enlisted Army told me she was on this site a few years ago and loved it. I don't know her username, but-- I've heard good things about this place! So, I am thrilled to join.

Thank you guys so much for the welcome!!!

One thing I must say is, Patience was NEVER one of my stronger virtues but after this 5 month stint of build ups and let downs, I've grown much stronger with my patience. I know you guys know what I mean, whether it be deployments or just distance. He gets back from the field this month on the 24th. So, he will get to talk to IPAC on the 26th about getting a flight date. *crosses fingers* I hope it all goes accordingly.

Welcome Heather!

I hope you get approved quickly! Like you said any time apart distance or deployments sucks!

Congrats on your wedding!! LOVE your pic!!

My name is Meredith. I'm an army wife. My husband is FINISHING up his 4 and final tour in Iraq. He's been in 8 years and will be getting out in about 6 months. I'm an athletic trainer and I've been working an office job home in NJ while he's been away. I've been a little on the miserable side and I'm very much looking to get back into the athletic training. I love to read and watch movies. Hubs and I are also kayakers!!! Our kayaks unfortunately are in WA with the rest of my life. And I like to talk if you couldn't tell ;)

Again, Welcome to MTMH! Feel right at home! I hope you love it here!

Awe! Thanks everyone for the wonderful welcome! I do believe good things will come of me joining this site. Currently, I am living in PA (where we both grew up). I haven't lived out of my home town.... ever. So this switch to another country all together will be a lot to take on. Plus, I will be with new people, in a new place, and of course a deployment is on the horizon as far as we can see. So, I'm definitely thinking reaching out is the best thing for me. And a lot of people at home don't know how I feel. Of course, I have a few friends who try to listen and empathize. But the only reply I ever get it (I have no idea how you do it [[the distance]]) And that is usually where the conversation ends. I need more people who understand me, and from what I have read- we're all pretty much in, or have been in the same boat--- and that alone comforts me a lot.

Hi Heather!
I'm Colleen and been married to my husband for almost 3 years. We are stationed in Alaska where we have survived one deployment about a year ago. We are hopefully gearing up for a PCS somewhere else in a few months, which I know will quite possibly bring another deployment, sigh. BUT I am anxious to get the heck out of here!

Welcome to married AND military life! This site is awesome and the girls are great!
