ok I'm all about naming your kids from your all time favorite book but it's just so trendy...and it's not at all original. Give your kid a story about their name. I feel bad for the kid in 2nd grade for the "who were you named after" project and they have to say a character from twilight. Remember your kid is the one who has to live with it!! Don't get me wrong LOVED the books but the madness that has ensued from it with people our age....I find a little embarrassing lol I get that its more than vampires and all that jazz and its more about finding a soul mate for women our age but really?? Naming your kids after the twilight series?? I feel like that's gone just a little too far...

Plus I know several ladies right here on our forum who have picked beautiful unoriginal baby names....kennedy colton riker adrian and josh to be exact Classy names that aren't the typical "mike or lauren" and aren't anywhere near ridiculous either!! Good job ladies ;) ((Not that you were looking for my approval lol))

lol bell is a great name for a dog!! beauty and the beast!! way more creative loll. I just feel like naming your kid after twilight is very....fad ish. Not for me that's for sure. Not to say I wouldn't name my kid something from a book but I can sure as hell tell you it wont be from twilight

I agree 100%!! All though my mom did pick my name from a movie ( Xanadu ) I am proud to say that I wasn't a trend some 28 years ago. My brother was named after a soap opera character from DOOL Shane. I love that I didn't go with a trend even though Gabe and Donovan are in the top 100 or close to it there is no story behind it, no pun intended..lol.

I watched New Moon the other day and I didn't like, I did like the first one. I want to read the books one day.

I heard this on the radio today!! Bryan and I have planned on Isabella for a long time for a girl because he's Italian, and yes I'm a Twihard so I know everyone is going to think that about me, but oh well.

lol I won't fault you. Isabella is a big name around here...very Italian area. And Bella is super cute. I'm just gald you're not doing it after Twilight ;)

I wanted Ryk's middle name to be Edward, after my family. Just happens it would be a nice tribute to Twilight as well lol.

lol Mike's family name is James (I hate it because I associate it with a particular James) Maybe I can talk him out of it cause he's not only a twilight character but a lame one lol

Crap they're all really nice names! I have no problems with people using the names I think using them because of twilight characters is...a little much lol.

i agree mere...if there is reason behind it thats something to do with family is better then from a book.

I get miffed with those 'top names' lists because everytime I fell in love with a aname it would be on a list somewhere (even when we were trying to help friends pick baby names etc and I never wanted to have my kids names be 'popular' not be super odd either but not be typical and overused...

I wanted them to have Strong, bold names that would help them later in life, give them credability, when people heard their name, but not be too big of a name when they were a kid.. ya know?

I hate that it seems like everytime Matt and I came up with a name it would be on the top of some list or I'd hear it everyday at stores etc. I don't want my kids to have everyday names and be one of 4 in the class!

lol mere, when i was picking the boys names we bought the baby books, but we werent going for the top 100 list or anything. christopher went really well with william. (since we were using william as the middle name.) william happens to be my hubby my dad my grandpa my father inlaw, his father, and even our doctor was named william. so everyone thinks we named our son after them. haha!! josh was named after a friend of mine from highschool who was killed in iraq. and ryan just went well with it. i wanted to name darren aaron BUT william thought aaron sounded too soap opera-ish, so he chose darren, then we used my brother inlaws name matthew as the middle. but i totally agree with ya i like to have a story behind the names, im named after my mothers best friend. they are still friends today and im almost 27 so its nice to know that my name represents a great friendship!!

when we were prego with chris we picked out the name alyssa marie for a girl, then we had a boy so the name carried over to josh. had he been a girl that would have been his name, and so on with darren. but since we never got our lil girl, it seems we have met or talk to on a reg basis to someone with the name alyssa. back in 2003 we never really heard the name alyssa but now we hear it all the time!

I reallllly love the name Rhett...it would be after one of Mike's buddies who was KIA last time they were there but unfortunately it sounds a little silly with out last name which also begins with an R. Mike says it sounds like a sling shot name :( But I am totally in love with it. I may use it was a middle name if I can get it in there. I haven't thought much about girls names. I feel like they're harder to choose...not that I've had to name children lol but I don't know it seems like so much more is a stake when you name a daughter.

i really like the name Anabelle and ppl say i want that name so i can call my kid Bells just like Twilight no it is b/c my moms middle name is Lee and i think Anabelle Lee (insert our last name) is a really nice name :)
personally i will be one that will take all names anyone will give me and i will have names that i like but until i am holding the baby in my arms is when hubbs and i will name him or her....i do like the idea of not finding out the sex of the baby and then not telling family and calling the baby "baby it" for the first year just to make everyone mad...but it gives me a year to figure out the baby's name :)

Mere, I love Rhett!! Very cool name!! I didn't want Gabriel because it flows into our last name, but I lost, that's why we call him Gabe 99% of the time. I still hate that it flows but I don't regret naming him Gabriel.
