1 year anniversary

Soo ladies, today is JM and I one year anniversary :) ITs a great enough gift for me to have him home from iraq... but since were not together, were rainchecking our anniversary stuff till the 11 or 12 when Im back in ELP... but I have NO idea what to get him

I was thinking about a flask and engraving his name in it. We cant take anything serious and the other day he kept joking about getting one so he could take it to work and drink at work (lmao) and I figured since he HATES gifts anyways, why not do it as something funny but to personalize it and kind of make it special? What do you think?? Or do you have any other ideas for a great 1year anniversary gift

Well I always like the idea of going on a theme for the anniversary. Here are some ideas:

Traditional 1st wedding anniversary gifts have a theme of Paper.

A Contemporary or Modern First anniversary gift has a theme of Clocks.

The Flowers associated with the First anniversary are Pansies

The Gemstone list shows Fresh Water Pearl associated with this Anniversary

So going on the theme of paper you could make him a photo book of the past year or since you've been together. On the idea of the clock you could get him a pocket watch or something. I think a flask is a great idea as well!

aghh he has a photo album.. i put it together when he was deployed... and we just got his and hers rolex :) lol

we dont ever do the traditional thing. or any of those lists that kira mentioned haha our 1st anniversary he got a grill. then random other stuff like that that were just for him. but if you wanna get him a flask or whatever check out thingsremembered.com they have a good selection of stuff and they do engraving on most or all orders!! good luck and happy anniversary

personally im glad we didnt do the paper theme cause william would have probably gave me a post it note that said love ya on it. lmao thats just the kind of goofball he is.

OMG SHERRY we have a things remembered here in town! I actually ended up getting it there! His flask has the army thing on the back of it and his name on the front :) I hope he likes it!!!

Congrats!!! I like the flask idea! Josh and I end up getting each other tats, not that we pick out each others but we always have ones pick out far in advanced and have a folder in our filing cabinet of our art we are going to get done, and holidays anniversaries bdays etc we are big on going down to the shop and booking time and paying for the other to get one of them done. Def not for everyone... but that is something we do.

I dunno call me a sucker for themes..lol. Well my paper idea was a card, and a poem....soo yeah I'm not that creative..lol. Kristi the flask sounds really nice!!

Katie, we are doing tats too!! He will miss our 4th anniversary so before he leaves we are getting tattoo's together, it will be his first..lmao!!!
