ok im trying to figure out if there is any way for us to get william offpost for a 2nd opinion about his back. im so frustrated because he got hurt in november, he sprained his ribs and did something to his lower back. well no one seems to be telling us anything. we finally bitched enough and got him an apt for next week for an MRI. but it seems the army only wants to throw pills at him. he goes to physical therapy 3x a week, but between pills therapy icy hot and heating pad. its not helping. he just seems to be in more pain then usual, we are going to buy a new mattress in hopes that it helps some. he is frustrated because he is on profile and cant do ANYTHING!! he is undeployable right now, and with the upcoming deployment hes just going nuts. i feel like screaming and throwing a fit at someone BUT i dont know who to yell at to get things done. anyone know? or can anyone atleast give me a direction please?????

I don't have an answer but I'm with you. I want Adam to get a second opinion on some stuff he is going through but the Army thinks only one opinion matters.

i have no idea how to get him off post for a second opinion. I'm a spouse and the closest MTF is an hour and a half and I'm struggling for them to get me a local gyno. Tricare blows. They're polite and do the best they can....my bet is to call and keep calling till you get the answer you want. It seems to be the only way I can get them to do anything for me.

I hope William is feeling better soon!

you can go online and find a dr that takes tricare, once you do that you can call tricare and ask for a referral for that dr. you have to have the name of the dr and the address.

it may not work but thats how i did it when i needed to get rylie into OT. the only problem is you are going to have to be pushy cause they dont like to be helpfull. in the end the dr office rylie was going to had to call them.

but its worth a try. good luck honey i hope he gets what he needs.

honestly it may not help. both my parents have had back problems for the past 3 years. all the dr does is give them cordizone shots that help for about a week and then pain meds. i really hope that your DH gets more help then they did.
