Hi Jennifer!
I'm Lisa. Been married to my Marine, Dustin, for over 8 months now!
I know its hard at first, and to be honest I don't really know what fibromyalgia is, but I suggest lots of tv shows on dvd and some good books! The bottom section of the site will have lots of suggestions for both!

Wow girl, my heart breaks for you having fibromyaliga. I hope at least your Dr. have helped you get the pain under control a little bit?

I am Kristi, 21 and married for 10 months to my soldier. Hes currently deployed to Iraq, but coming home VERY SOON :). I am here in missouri finishing up nursing school, then Ill be off to the army myself :) Army Nursing Corps.

As far as things to do to keep yourself busy. I would suggest starting a workout plan, but that may be sort of hard, maybe though go for a 15 min walk 2 times a day when you aren't in too much pain? It doesn't sound like much, but by the time you get ready and get out, thats almost a hour of your day spent right there :) Also... there is always MTMH and u can become an addict!

No I stopped going to the doctor because i got tired of being sent to specialists without getting any results from it.

Welcome! I'm Kira, my DH is in the Army. We have 2 boys ages 5 and 3 and a 2 yo lab mix. We are coming up on our first Deployment soon. These ladies are wonderful and this is a great place to pass the time by. Obviously I have 2 boys that keep my insanely busy so I don't have any good advice except keep busy, I know easier said than done. You can learn a new craft, craft stores often have free lessons like sewing or scrapbooking, go window shopping/online window shopping, etc....

hi!

I'm Meredith. I'm an army wife of a little over a year now. We're currently on another deployment but almost done! At 6 months we're half way!! woo hoo! My best advice for passing time is hobbies! I read a lot! I recently learned how to sew. When I was living at Fort Lewis and the guys were away for training I used to meet another wife and watch movies and do puzzles. The best thing to do is stay busy as you can while taking care of yourself!! Try not to let the distance get you down!

Spend tons of time here if you need to :) We have a chat room every sunday night at 6pm your time! We'd love to get to know you better! Welcome to the boards!

hi! i'm serena. i'm 19 and a newly-wed (our 4 month anniversary will be on the 28th of march), and my husband is 21 and in the Army National Guard. he graduates on may 6 and then will move onto AIT, and be home with me again in late June/early July. mark and i have been together for years and have never been apart this long in that amount of time as well. i have difficulty managing my anxiety and have gone through depression, in which mark has been with me every step of the way until now, so i know how you feel about being away from your husband. we don't have any kids, but we have a blue merle border collie whom my parents are taking care of until we can get a place that allows pets (and have enough money to continue agility training with her!) something that is a good way to pass the time is actually agility training with dogs! i don't know if you have any pets, but it's an amazing confidence booster when you do something fun with your dogs and are successful at it! there are all kinds of people very young-very old, disabled or not, athletes and couch-potatoes, lol, who love to be apart of training dogs in obedience and agility, so maybe you could look into that?
well i really hope that you like it here! these ladies have given me loads of great advice in the short time that i've been here too.
