about to color my hair

i am about to color my hair at home- nothing too drastic, just similar to what i have now...
i really want to make sure i get all my hair and get the roots really well.
anyone have any tips? :)

i have only died my hair at home by myself 2x, haha the first time i missed a few strands so it looked like i had a few misplaced blonde highlights!! and the 2nd time i got it all, i know how frustrating it can be, so goodluck,

Oh me and my SIL dye my hair all the time! use ALL the dye (even if you think you don't need it, use it, it'll help to make it all even) start with your hair lines by your face, and don't try to get it all perfectly even (if theres more in some places than others its not a big deal, as long as you get it everywhere) GOOD LUCK!!

aww it pretty hunny did you figure it all out by yourself or have a friend help you do it?? i always do a hime dye but i cant get it all myself so i have a buddy or sister help..lol..

thanks!! :)well i did most of it- my roommate helped me a little bit towards the end by pointing out where i needed more color.
i used 2 bottles. i love changing my hair around. haha i think im gonna do somethign different in a month or 2.
im gonna go get it cut soon because it needs it soooo bad!

loooks beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whenever i dye my own hair, i always use a comb and comb it in as well...and i always save just a little bit just in case i miss somewhere on the roots or soemthing then i can quick redye it!!! but it looks like everything went amazingly!!!!

Hey Lindsay do you use specific shampoo's? Like color-stay shampoo's or anything like that?

Ooh! I do! Garnier Fructis!
I dyed my hair black almost middle of December and the color is still holding up!

i used dove's color treated shampoo!

i use tresemme for brunette and red colored hair.
it works wonderfully :)

ugh I use biolage (i think that spelling is messed up but oh well) and tresseme (b is in huntsville and t is in houston) and the first is color whatever and the t is not but for some reason (because my SIL and I always dye my hair the same color and we've done it a hundred times) it NEVER STICKS!!! ahh its so annoying because i LOVE it super dark brown (almost black but not quite) and it keeps fading back to lighter brown.. dumb!

I use Garnier Fructis for color treated hair! ITS AWESOME!

There is also this stuff called claypa (i think thats how its spelled) that they sell at sallys beauty supply... its AWESOME TOO!

Looks great Lindsay! When I had long hair I used to use 2 bottles of dye too!! Better to have too much than not enough!!
