When do they update the assignments on AKO during AIT? My hubs should be done 3/25... when do they assign your first duty station normaly/on average?

Hmm I think we had official orders a few weeks before AIT graduation. It was on his AKO about 2 months after he started AIT though, so that was about 3-4 months before graduation.

We had orders on AKO about 2 months in to AIT but they aren't always accurate, so I hear. They put up a paper with orders in the office for everyone about the same time but didn't get official orders in hand until the week of graduation.

I wouldn't know because hubs was lonnnggg done BCT/AIT when I met him hehe. But I can tell you from experience not to trust anything till they have papers in hand. The army never really gives you enough advanced notice for anything...

John-Mark got his papers 3 days before he graduated from AIT... but part of that was indecisivesness on his part. At basic and AIT he got offered to go to Fort Drum for 3 years, be nondeployable and run for the All Army Track Team (he ran in college the whole semester he went)... and he kept thinking he might want to do it... and finally made up his mind 3 days before he graduated that he didn't want to do that.

But I think most of his buddies at AIT got orders about 2 weeks before graduation
