Unofficial Orders

I mentioned a few weeks ago that they were talking about deploying Mike again this fall. At Mike's squadron formation today they announced that they have unofficial orders for the end of the summer. I guess 10 days ago "A"th BDE announced they had changed their orders from Iraq to Afghanistan. Iraq still needs another stryker BDE this summer so "B"th BDE (Mike) got chosen. That will give them a whopping 13 months home from the last darn deployment. Anyway he said it went from a 95% chance to a 99.9% chance and that they should have real orders by the end of March.

I've made some choices about what to do as well. I'm going to start looking into getting my AT license in NJ now so I have the paperwork done before I get there making getting a job for a year a little easier. I'm going to talk to the parentals tomorrow and make sure they want me back lol...which of course they will and then we have several months to figure out the details. I'm a little bummed that I'm going to be leaving my job with the kiddos. I'm really starting to enjoy them but I'll be better off at home with family since I don't have anyone here...not even a full time job to keep me busy.

So I finally got a whole weekend off and the army laid that one on me. Oh well! Such is life as a military wife. Just thought I'd share. :usflag:

Blah. Mere this sucks. But at least you have a lot of time to cling to him for dear life and smother him with love :p And plus, I already know you're strong enough to do this so I'm not worried about you at all. :)

well shit.

this sucks mere :( obv you two have proved that you can handle it/do it but it still sucks and i know you guys are gonna miss eachother like crazy. i think its great you have plans set and know what you want todo/are gonna do. and i agree, itd be hard to stay there not really knowing anyone or having a full-time gig to distract you. im SO proud of you girl.
and as always,mtmh will be here with open arms :)

Well it seems like you have plans so that is always good! Hopefully your Mom will welcome you back and wont give you a hard time about coming home!! And hopefully she didnt turn your room in to the family sewing room yet ;-)

I am really sorry. I know that you are strong enough to do this again but what a curve ball just thrown into everything, it seems so unfair, seems like you just got him back... But Such is military life as you said. Please know we will all be here for you as you have for so many of us all along. Keep your chin up and spend lots of time together!!!

You guys are really the best! I'm so glad I have all of you!! Having you guys will surely make it easier!!

I do plan on enjoying every minute I get with Mike. I hug a little tighter, kiss a little longer, and breathe in the way he smells a little deeper. (yum he smells good!!)

I talked to my mom last night too. She said it's fine that I go home if I wanted too. I think she was trying not to be excited lol. She really misses me. And while I know she's bummed Mike's leaving she'll be glad to have me home instead of staying out here. She also informed me that my brother's girlfriend would enjoy having me home. We really hit it off while I was home for Christmas, so I already have a new friend at home! Mom also told me if there was anything Mike and I needed to let them know and when it came to time to find a job in NJ if I needed to get home for an interview she and my dad would take care of the plane tickets. Which is really awesome. The job market for what I do is a little better in NJ anyway so it will hopefully be a little easier to find something and Mike and I will really be able to bank some money. If it truly is only a 12 month deployment he'll be getting home right before his ETS date (if he doesn't reup) and we'll be looking at moving to NH and buying a home! anyway now I'm babbling!

Thanks guys for really making this easier on me!! I know I always have a shoulder to lean on and a place to find some good laughs when I need them. You really are the greatest friends!! :heartbeat:

LOL. Umm no news really. They were supposed to have an FRG meeting tonight but I haven't heard anything from my POC and most of the guys are in the field yesterday and tonight. So that would be kind of stupid. And I am def going back to Jersey. It'll just be a matter of when sometime in August or September I think.

Well if I am still around by then (I might move in September) we have to get together! It'll probably be my first MTMH meet-up unless somethign happens this summer which I doubt b/c I'm poor and always really busy haha

LOL yeah I'm not sure when we'll be there cause we're not really sure quite when he's leaving yet. And then I'm driving home from here sooo that's gunna take a few days. It took 3 with me and Mike but driving with either one of my parents or my brother and his gf would make the trip totally different so I really have no idea hopefully by mid Sept so hopefully I'll catch you before you leave!
