Ok Mom's I need help...

Adrian (my oldest) Has been invited to a Bday party for a girl in his class and I am a little stumped on some etiquette stuff... HELLLLP.

OK first, It's a girls Bday, It's being held at a Roller Rink... He wants to go which is fine with me, but I don't know if I am suppose to just drop him off, or do I stay there? I don't know that kind of thing. I don't really feel comfortable just leaving him there first of all, I don't know any of these people. (Keep in mind I tend to overreact according to other people and be overprotective, but C'mon I have never met these people.. I know it's a birthday party at a public place... but still.. anyone could just walk off with my son ya know?) But I also don't want to make him feel uncomfortable and be the only mom that is there ya know? make him the uncool kid? Like if no one elses mom is going to be there maybe I will just sit in the car, but not leave the parking lot?? (AHHHH I hate worrying so much..) Besides my child is INCREDIBLY hyperactive so I don't want to burden this girls mom ya know? Although he is different for other people.

Secondly.. I am assuming this girl is turning 7, (Adrian just turned 7 in Dec and he seems to be of Average age for the kids in his class. He is in 1st grade) WHAT in the WORLD do 1st grade/7 yr old girls like???? I have no idea anymore I am all about the boy stuff now.... LOL.. Some pleeeeeeeease help me before I buy this girl a barbie and make him the most uncool kid ever. I asked him what we should get her and he said "I think we should get her an IPOD" LMFAO Keep dreaming kid... I own a crappy first Gen Ipod shuffle, we aren't buying your 7yr old gf an ipod... LMAO.

Usually I am alright on these rules, becuase the party is for good friends of the family or whatever so I would be there anyway... He hasnt been invited by a classmate that I don't know before, at least in a circumstance that it has been possible for him to actually go (EI: josh working and having the car, or mommy being in the hospital.. LOL) So I am excited for him I just don't want to screw it up for him either.
The party is this sat, so ... HELLLLLLLLLLLP...:thanks:

I think you should do what makes you comfortable. If you want to stay stay, if you're uncomfortable staying don't. I think Spahr is right, drop him off, hang out, and see how you feel about it.

7 year old girls...dress up, BARBIES (i was a barbie freak lol), ummm im more used to doing toddler girls...hannah montana?? brats?? I'm sure you can think of something! and if at a loss...ask adrian! I'm sure he knows what the girls his age like to play with!

I already gave her my idea for a gift..lol But also the nail polish, lipgloss and all that girly stuff are great ideas too!

Katie, I'm the same way..I don't think I would leave Lexie at a kids bday party..expecially if I don't know them! I would take Spahr's idea and just hang around for awhile and see what the other parents are doing. Lexie is a super hyperactive kid too so I understand that was well..OUR KIDS SHOULD DATE!!!! :) hehe

but that's a perk to being grandparents...you can play with them and then give them back to the parents..LOL

Mere I can't take Adrian's advice, he wants to get her an IPOD..LMAO

But thank you girls for all your advice.. I feel much better about it. I think I'm gonna stick around, I'm sure the other parents will too, Besides maybe the it will give me a chance to meet some other mom's in the area. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being over protective and rediculous.

I dont' think so at all! you're new to the area and move frequently ...I'd say it would only be normal not to want to leave your kid with people you don't know!!

I missed the ipod bit in the begining lmao that's hilarious!! Why don't you try asking him what kind of toys (other than ipods) the girls bring in from home to play with...I bet he has a better idea than he's letting on!
