Okay, so I need to switch from Standard to Prime...but I also need to add dental coverage. How the heck to I do it? I tried to do it online, but I don't have a scanner to upload my POA...can I call them and just fax it over? I don't know if they can do it all over the phone or not and I will be very mad if I wait on the phone for an hour for them to say they can't do anything for me.
I'm also VERY confused about MyPay...but John said in his letter that he would be able to set it up from there, so I'll wait until I get his next letter to see if he got it taken care of. If not, I WILL be needing lots of help with that! Haha! Thanks so much ladies! I'd be SO lost without you!!

Ok...call tricare for switching from standard to prime you'll probably just have to fax a form. They'll be able to tell you where to find the form online and give you a number to fax it to. If they need the POA which they might they'll let you know who to send it to. I honestly have never waited very long to talk to someone when I've called and they're always really nice and helpful.

For the dental it's contracted out to another company, united concordia, here's the website for them

http://www.tricaredentalprogram.com/tdptws/home.jsp

find the number on there it should be pretty easy and just call to see what they need. Again I think it's just faxing another form and I think it was like 7 dollars to enroll or something stupid like that. Again I don't think I waited to talk to them and the thing thats nice about the dental is you don't have to change regions when you move like you do with the Tricare.

Good luck!

Well Prime is easy but not sure about the POA or anything, I got on Prime when DH was in Basic and it was very easy and I didn't have a POA though and I can't remember if you need it. I just went to the closest MTF ( Military Hospital ) and went to the Tricare office.

Dental is done through United Concordia. I signed up online and again I didn't have a POA all I needed was all his info and you have to pay the first month up front.

MyPay has to be set up with him first but if he wants he can then give you the info. It used to be easy like his SSN and a password but they recently changed and it's now a log in ID.

Did you get the packet in the mail with the info on how to get your ID? I recieved a packet and it contained all the info for Tricare Prime and United Concordia and my ID.

I have my military ID but have to change it to ARMY instead of NG, but I haven't gotten anything from Tricare yet.

I went to the website and they want you to upload the POA so I will have to call and see if I can fax it.

Thats odd... I didnt have to have a POA

I switched from Standard to Prime without john-mark here or without a POA... if you live by a base, go there and go to DEERS, thats where I changed mine at was at DEERS.

As far as Tricare dental through united concorida, I also did that on my own without john-mark or a POA. As long as you have his SSN you should be fine on them all!

Yeah I did the Tricare switch from standard to Prime on my own too. I just needed his SSN I think. I guess they changed it recently. If you aren't close to an Army base you can always go to a Navy, Airforce or Marine one. We're no where near and Army base so I've always gotten my ID at a Marine base and they told us we could talk to DEERs and Tricare there too.

We have a DEERS office and I need to switch my ID to Army, but I'm able to access the dental if I put that I'm John...I just don't want to get us in trouble if I do that...I'm calling tomorrow and I'll decide from there if I should do it via phone or just wait until Monday when we go to the DEERS office.

I didn't need a POA either. I went to a Navy MTF and they had a Tricare office, here they have the Tricare office in a seperate building. You can check on the Tricare website where there is an office closest to you. I went to the office and took the paperwork home because I had to find a different doctor for all of us. Then when it was completed took it back and it was all set no POA that I can remember.

With the dental I got some paperwork in a packet when he went to BCT it was from DH, it was signed by him. But I decided to do it online and it was really easy, I think you just need to know his SSN.
