So ladies maybe one of you can help me

Is there anywhere for military wives to get textbooks? Long story short. I have a writers reference book from freshman year that I was told to keep, it was a $30 book, so I kept it for my other english classes. I am in expos this semester and my teacher DEMANDS that we have the most current version :( I don't want to spend another $30 on this stupid book that I will never use after this semester...

I vaugely remember someone one time telling me that military wives can "rent" books for a semester... do you guys know where?

I tried google for some military program but I didn't find anything. I did get one link just to order cheap textbooks so you could try this site.

One thing I did a few times when I was in school was borrow a text book from a friend then take it to a photocopy place and have them photocopy either the whole thing or portions of it if I knew which chapters we needed etc. Some shops consider doing the whole book illegal so you have to go to a smaller place. One of my friends in College's Dad owned a shop so we had it easy.

You could also borrow a book and compare it to the edition you do have there might not be alot of difference. I did this one year and found the only difference was some of the practice questions so whenever the professor assigned questions I just borrowed a friends book and went to library and photocopied the questions I needed.

Anyway Good Luck

thats teh thing... this book seems pointless to me. All it does it tell you how to write in MLA and APA formats and how to properly use commas, semi colons, periods stuff like that...

haha Spahr.. actually yes

We get 10pts a day for being there with both our books, 5 for each book :(

This is an extension... basically the people in this class with me are either just trying to take some classes to get their GPA high enough after flunking out of college to get back into a university, or they are people just taking a few classes here and there because they cant be a full time student... its pretty retarded... but I met a few of my classmates and they are like OMG your a nursing student...

I just IM'd you...

For everyone else...

Chegg.com rents books to everyone. They are in good shape and cheap. This term I rented 2 text books... one was a math book that would have cost me $120 new, rented for $34, and a Psychology book that also costs $100 new, rented for $36. I spent just over $70 for my books this term! It was heaven! I also had to buy online access for my math class and that cost me $72... luckily, I didn't have to pay for the book and that... so... all in all it was good!

DANIE IS RIGHT! Unfortunately I cant rent all my nursing books because I need them for later classes, and to study for my NCLEX... but this would have def been helpful for all the other classes i had to fill my gen eds with! Anyways... that book ended up costing me $9.99 on chegg.com!!!

I hate when they come out with new textbooks for things that don't change!!! MLA and APA is NOT changing!!!

I just went through all my college textbooks from 5 years ago. Not a single one was the current edition...and these are psych and math books...uhm, what has changed in math over the past 5 years?? One of the books I have was like a 3rd edition and the most recently available is a 9th edition. 6 new editions in 5 years? WTF???

Very irritating.

Glad you got it on chegg for cheap though!

For anyone using Chegg for textbooks, I was just informed that you can take 10% off using the code "FACEBOOK".

And yes, a facebook ad told me this. :)
