So sad. She was so young and very talented. I loved her movies. Hollywood seems to be so fast and loose today.

What I don't understand... Is... In todays day in age, in our technologically advanced society why the hell it takes 6-8 wks to get toxicology results back... WTF? We can clone things, We can go to the moon, we can almost cure cancer.. but.. 6-8 weeks for toxicology results? I just don't understand.... It doesn't take that long to do a drug test at the docs office or at a hospital... So why is it that when doing an autopsy it is taking so long? I mean I know they are much much much more thorough, and they are checking down to the cellular level for traces of drugs but 6-8 wks? Really? I just don't get it. Not just becuase of Britney Murphy, I have wondered this for a long time..

It's because they have to have time to meet with publicists and managers and all that crap so that they can come up with a good cover story. I don't understand why they don't just tell us she was stoned and get it over with. I mean wasn't it what we were all thinking as soon as we heard it anyway? And really would any of us be surprised?

I doubt that is the case, becuase even in non celeb deaths toxicology reports take 6-8 weeks.

and actually... they are saying at this point... they Don't believe she was on recreational drugs at the time of her death.. that she was on prescription drugs (not releasing what yet, may be as simple as birth control or antibiotics.. Don't be quick to assume) They are also saying they believe that she had an underlying heart condition, could it have been from drug use? sure, could it have been from an eating disorder? sure, could it have been from the flu? sure..Could it have been from stress JUST LIKE in my post earlier? SURE! My point is... none of us were there, and we don't know what happened, and it is rude of us to assume. I did it too and I shouldn't have. The poor girl was 32, It is a tradgety that she died what ever caused it... My question was purely a medical question and not based on her death just a general question.

I couldn't believe it when I heard! I LOVED her!! She was such a great actress. She'll be missed! :tissue:
And Katie...I don't get it either. You'd think the results would come back much sooner...this isn't the same thing, but my grandma was sick a little while back and her doc had her go to the hospital (we just lost my uncle and grandpa within 2 months of each other, so I think he just wanted to be safe) and they swabbed her for influenza type a and type b, but that came back negative (It only takes like 15-20 minutes). So, they swabbed her for H1N1 and the results didn't come back for 3 weeks! They treated her like it was H1N1 anyways, so I don't get the point of even doing the test in the first place. If they found out she ahd it, it would be gone by then anyways!
I can kind of understand because it's a new virus, but the point was I don't understand why some test take so long. You'd think this day and age it would be like clockwork, but then again, I don't know how complicated that kind of testing is. Maybe it's easy to make mistakes so they take their time so they don't get false results.
