I was just writing some emails to my girlfriends back on the east coast that I went to school with. I miss them sooooo much! Nikki, Meg, and Shay were always good for Margaritas DDR and/karaoke on the ps2 and tons of laughs! I was writing my roommate Casey about Mike's training schedule starting to pick up which includes a lot of time in the field. Which is bumming me out cause I haven't really made any friends out here. Her and our friend Aimee were always good for staying in on a Friday night in PJs a fleecey robe with some fresh baked cookies and milk and they always let me whine that Mike was away...I wish I could do that when Mike leaves next month! But they're so far away!!
So for all of you girls who have picked up and moved either because of the military, or school, or whatever reason...what do you miss about home? Or the time you spent with those people??

I totally miss just being able to call up my girls and hang out. It really sucks. I know i was soooo much happier at home because i could just call julie and we could go get something to eat and i could talk to adults. I miss being able to just see my fam in general whenever i like....i miss going and visiting my dog. I thought about her getting older last night and dying while i'm here and it made me cry....i dont know what i would do without my jewel. I miss getting bored and going to walmart and eating lunch with my mom. And i miss the most hanging out with my lil bro....its like every time i go home he grows up so much more. Hes my bestest friend and i really miss hanging out with him. Like when he calls we talk on the phone for like hours about randomness. (hes 15) Hes my bud!

As crazy as this sounds... RUNNING. I had this amazing group of girls who I ran with every summer. Our runs never accomplished much, we always talked way more than we ran, but I love those girls and miss them sooo much. We always try to get together when we are all home over holidays and what not... but even then its so hard :(

I miss my sister. She'll be 11 this weekend and she's growing up wayyy too fast. She even has a job now and doesn't even want to have a birthday party cuz she rather work!... She's just exercising horses for someone but I sure as hell didnt have a job when I was 11.
When I was in Hawaii I missed constantly having someone around and I missed Jamie. Lol as sad as it is I think she was like my only friend that I actually missed. She cried when she dropped me off at the airport and I wasn't much better hahaha

awe Spahr!! That's cute and sad at the same time!!
I miss my family and hanging out with my brothers. I cried when we left my parents house after Christmas. lol It made me really sad, my mom and I are super close. I def miss mom's food and not having to cook for myself. I miss my moms dog and watching my niece and nephew grow up. I miss crashing my parents Friday night date to the diner.

oh and I miss my dog that my mom stole from me! He's a pembroke welsh corgi and he's a cutie pie... the only bad thing is him and my brothers dog (the one I have now) fight... big time!
And I miss my parents friends... well some of them. They were like extra moms and dads. I actually talk to some of them as often as my real mom.

After living in and near San Diego California for 12 years I still miss Ottawa, ON Canada where I grew up. But unfortunately I lost touch with alot of people there. Being so far away we just grew apart or they moved away from Ottawa too.
I still miss my family of course, and now I'm missing seeing my little nephew grow up. He was already 18 months when I first met him. You really miss alot when you only see someone once a year or longer.
I also miss alot of the food that you just can't get down here. Like I never realized how many versions of chocolate bars aren't available down here or how some businesses that I know are American are only in the eastern states.

I miss my foster sister and the long drives to no where we used to take whenever we were feeling blue. I miss my grandma making sourdough pancakes with huckleberries. I miss my best friend Mary who moved to Hawaii (damn her) and left me to rot in Kentucky. I miss a backyard since we don't have one here. I miss the long open highways in Montana. I miss the eight hour drives to Shriner's in Spokane, WA.
I miss the simplicity of my life from before I moved out of my parents. Nothing was too serious and I just kind of did whatever I wanted all the time. This was back when I still had friends and D hadn't joined the Marines yet. I really didn't have anything to stress or worry about. I guess that's why I come home every weekend, now that I can, it makes me feel like I can go back to that.
