After reading a few threads I noticed most of you use your first names in both your threads. Anyway my real name is Karen but I've used the nickname/handle Tissa on alot of message boards and in a online game that I played for around 5 years so I'll respond to either one.

I'm 34 years old and I've been married for 7 years. My husband joined the National Guard just over 2 years ago and is leaving on his first deployment this summer.

I work as an electrical engineer testing military radios, which are sold to allied countries. In my spare time I take Martial Arts, watch TV, read and surf the internet. Although lately I've been unable to practice Martial Arts since I broke my ankle in December and its still too sore for most stuff.

Well I guess thats it hope to get to know you all better soon.

I'm Lisa. My boyfriend, Dustin, is in the Marines. We've been together for two and a half years and he's been in the Corps for over a year and a half. He returned from our first deployment in November and leaves for the second at the end of the summer. I'm currently going to school in TX and hoping to move out to Cali, well, right around the time he leaves. Anyway, welcome to the site! You'll find the girls here are wonderful and very helpful if you ever have a problem or a question about anything!

I'm Meredith. I'm 23, married to my AD soldier since July. We're stationed at Ft Lewis, WA. First deployments are tough but you can do it!! And the girls here will be great to help you through it!! They're absolutely hysterical and always offer a shoulder to lean on!

I'm an athletic trainer at a local high school. I'm into outdoors and reading and thoroughly addicted to the internet myself. OUCH to breaking your ankle!! That really stinks!

I have two kids ages 13 & 11 who constantly keep me running here and there so I am an overworked SAHM (aren't we all LOL) I can't wait to read some more of your posts. BTW, what online games did you play. I played DAOC for 6, WOW since it came out, Star Wars Galaxies until the runned the game with the Combat Upgrade, and Warhammer. I haven't played in a while just because I don't really have time to play when the hubby is gone.

Also for those who mentioned my ankle here's an update I went to the doctor today, and he wants me to start Physical Therapy and to start walking more without the brace/boot I've been wearing for almost 3 months.

For Samme I also played DAOC for about 5 almost 6 years, I was in Albion on the Guinevere server. I hated to close my account but the servers are so empty it wasn't worth playing anymore. I never started WOW at first I didn't like the look of it and I couldn't really spend the time on more then one game. I've thought of starting something else since I left DAOC but I can't seem to get into it again. I bought a lifetime subscription to LOTRO but I don't play it much. Its fun but I never built up the friendships that I had with DAOC.

Anyway I look forward to getting to know all of you.

I know what you mean about not building up the same friendships on the different games. I have switched back to DAOC so many times, but it is really sad to see all of the different servers have combined just because there are not enough people playing it anymore. WOW was ok, but I compare everything to DAOC that it makes my husband sick LOL. I haven't played LOTRO before. Is it any good? I've heard mixed reviews on it.

LOTRO sounded good to me because its not a PVP focused game. I never really got into that aspect of DAOC. Its a quest based game so almost everything you do is a quest. The thing I don't like its almost every quest can be done solo so there's not much to encourage grouping. I mean its good in a way because you can accomplish something by yourself and in a pretty short time, but it almost seems to discourage groups till you get to a quest where you need someone and then finding someone who actually wants to do that quest can be difficult.
In some ways I think I need to give it more of a chance, since I never really played it alot. When I first started playing it I was still playing DAOC, and lately I just haven't had the time.
