For those of you in online school what are u in school for and what school? Also what about financial aid? I wasn't sure if you could get student loans for online school or if FAFSA would cover any online schools. I've been doing some research and I just wanted to see what people where doing and opinions on the courses and colleges people are doing!

okay i don't know how much help this is because i didn't do all my school online i just did one class, but it was less expensive, my financial aid counted towards it, and we just had to drop by some place and pick up a cd drive thing to download something and then she emailed us lessons and assignments

I'm going to Columbia College. It's a College based out of Missouri and they have campuses all over the country, but also do online school. They charge $210 per credit hour and classes are 8 weeks long. This next term starts on March 23rd, and I am taking 2 classes which costs me $1260. I have my GI Bill... so my school is covered... check 'em out.

is that not a little expensive? (i mean it doesn't matter since your GI bill covers it but that seems kind of high... is that just me?)

wow! i think i'd pass!

i'm just unsure because i'm taking 16 hours and i know it doesn't cost what it would by those prices (i'm way too lazy to do the math)

That's about 3360 for the term... Not bad really. If it were at the 210 ch rate of Columbia...

except that 3360 doesn't include books (which is over $500) and any other supplies stupid teachers require!

from what I've seen most of the classes are like the university of phoenix and in the 300's for credit hour. But some also have like discounted prices for paying for it all at once Also for anyone else who is looking check at tuitionpay.com its loans thru sallie mae and they also provide a scholarship search and it's for any kind of schooling!

Yeah ALL online schools are quite a bit higher than regular public schools. My husband was doing Kaplan for a while, it was like 325 a credit hour, so Columbia sounds REALLY reasonable!! I'm not sure if federal student aid can count towards it because at the time Bryan was making really good money and together with his GI Bill stuff, he made too much to qualify for it. A lot of state based schools do online schooling now, that's what I'm doing through a Georgia technical school, not sure about other states though. I think Georgia is one of the best states as far as financial aid goes because of the lottery based scholarship that's so easy to get and maintain!! Good luck though!!

I am online with the University of Phoenix. I am studying Criminal Justice and Psychology --

FAFSA and "loans" cover my cost. And I actually have a good amount of it covered by Federal Aid, as for the loans the ones I have are not bad at all, and I don't have to pay anything until 6 mo after I have completeded the highest degree I will be seeking from them.

For my associates degree in total its about 20 months (they do more of a year round schedule) and im under $2500 out of pocket...
