I love hearing about all these fairy tale stories so lets hear how everyone got engaged?! Unfortunately I am not engaged yet so I cant tell my story but Im ready for everyone elses!! :mafia:

well I will tell you my story even though it's not fairytale at all. lol. It will make some girls feel better about the way they got engaged. So my husband got my ring while I was still a senior in high school but my parents told him he couldn't propose until I was at least 18 and graduated from high school. So I turned 18 and graduated 3 weeks later. He was so anxious to get it over with he wanted to do it the night of my graduation. Before he could even get the ring out of his car I was downing tequila. lol. So he didn't want to do it while I was trashed. So the next day he is nursing my hangover and we're just laying on the couch in his parent's living room. Then he slipped the ring into my back pocket and waited for me to find it. I was looking for my cell phone and happened to reach in there and what do you know, a diamond ring. lol. The whole down on 1 knee didn't happen or the romantic setting. But I got my man in the end and that's all I wanted:heartbeat:

Awww! That is still really cute that he didnt want to wait and just wanted to do it right there! And to buy a ring while you were in high school?! Atleast you know how determined he was to have you be his! And now you have the cutest little girl ever :)

Aww. Thanks! It was definitely meant to be! We got married 5 months later and pregnant 4 months after that :)

:lovestruck: Well, mine was no whirlwind romance or love affair. We met while we were both at AIT (different classes, but same MOS). The reception was right behind my building and that was where we all went to smoke. I hooked my best friend up with his best friend. They in turn hooked us up. We had only known each other for a month and a half and dated for about a week and a half when they said they were going to get married and wanted to know if we wanted to have a double ceremony. Being dumb kids who had just turned 18, we said sure. So we went out to the gazebo and got to know each other as much as we could for about 15 minutes. That's all the time we had because me and my best friend had to get ready for formation and bed check. We got married a couple of days later, and in July we will have been married for 16 years. Not that exciting, but I do have to tell you one thing. The day we got married, my husband called his mom and dad after we got back from the JP and told them he was thinking about getting married. Two weeks later when we came back from dinner, the person on CQ came running up to us and she was all upset. Apparently, Jere's mom called and she told her he was out to dinner with his wife. Anyway, the beans were spilled and we had to face the music. I wouldn't advise anyone getting married that quick. We have had our fair share of bumps in the road, but it has been one wild ride (vroom vroom goes my harley! LOL)

well...ill even post a few pics...but anyways...
i came home from work xmas night, and jamies car was there, and he lvies 3 hours away and wasnt supposed to be there till the next day....i ran down to my room, opened the door, and it was full of rose pettles, 2 doz yellow and pink roses, candles, and a card that had a beautiful saying in it and at the end said turn around...when i did he was standing in my doorway....and he came and kissed me and told me to turn around, and close my eyes, thinkin i was gettin a necklace or something, and he told me to turn around again and he was on his knee with the ring....
well....being as we were together for only 4 months, i didnt believe him till he showed me the email between my parents and him asking for permission...i thought it was a big joke until then and then i felt bad :P haha

See, it's kind of a funny story. The first time he proposed we were sitting on my couch talking, and all of a sudden he turns to me and goes "will you marry me??" I said yes, of course. And he told me he'd ask again later with a ring and make it official. lol.

So a few months later, I went down to Georgia for Erik's family day for his graduation from BCT. His family and my family went to the mall, and his sister and I went into a store while he disappeared off. He reappears and goes off with my mom for a while. See, in my family, you don't ask for my dad's permission, you ask my mom, and Erik knew that. Then he comes back, gets down on one knee in the middle of the mall, and pulls out a diamond ring.
And I said yes. Again. And made it official.

Well mine is still kind of unofficial. LOL Aaron proposed to me a few days before he left and gave me a small white sapphire ring. He felt bad that he couldn't make it official with a fancy diamond ring but he just didn't have the money at the time. He still needs to get my parents permission haha which I don't think will be much of a problem because i've already talked to them about it LOL
Aaron and I have agreed that we really want to get married but that we need to at least wait until I graduate (which I just found out might be fall of 2010 rather than spring 2011 :)

hmm, mine was romantic i love him so much!! it was christmas eve 02 we had been dating for 8 months and he took me to my fav place we were walking around the fountain and down the boardwalk, he got down on one knee, said what started as friends has turned into love, i didnt know love at 7 but when i did i knew it was for you, i want to spend my life making our love stronger, will you marry me!! i cried hysterically and well i never answered him oops i said ok are you gonna put it on he said are you gonna answer me, it still makes me all dorky silly thinking about it!!
(by the way we met at age 7 so thats where that comes in at)
he did it at night so the 2nd picture is what it was like!!

well lets see!
Joey came home from Iraq for RnR on a sunday, little did i know he had his mom bring the ring to the airport,thinking he was going todo it there-but he said he was so nervous he didnt do it haha.
i knew he was going to propose, obviously since we had already set the wedding date...for the following thursday...and the wedding was planned-ha! but i didnt know when, and i was SO certain it wouldnt be his first day/night home. i wasnt even thinking about it/expecting it!
so we're laying in bed talking and just so happy he's home,cuddling kissing,ect. and he sits on top of me (im laying down on my back) and he smiles. he starts gettin all nervous and sweating and im like 'babe are you ok?' so he starts telling me how much he loves me...then his mom knocks on the door and says 'yall are being rude! kelly your mom and Ashley (SIL) are here!' so she opened the door and i said 'ok we'll be there in a minute, i think he's trying to propose!' and his mom goes 'omigosh!' and slammed the door hahahaha. so we both start laughing and hes like ' i want this to be special, i want you to have a special proposal,you deserev it' and i said ' it IS special! its SO us! we're in bed, our favorite place to hangout together, your ma busted in on it which makes it a comedy, and you know im gonna say yes!' so he starts his speech again of how much he loves me and wants to spend his life with me ect, and asks 'will you marry me?' and i said ' umm..hmm..maybe...YEAH! how bout thurs? does that work for you?' and he goes "hmm..ill have to look at my calender and move some things arond,but i think i can squeeze in a wedding..'


*the ring is gorgeous, the setting is new, but the center stone is my grannys diamond from her engagment ring-my pawpaw was in the Navy and gave it to her,they got married,and right after he deployed-tehyve been married over 50 years now!


and of course, we got married 4 days later :)

John and I had been dating for six months when he proposed. Our whole relationship was kind of a mishap. He asked me out every ten minutes for about 5 hours until I agreed to go on a date with him then we decided we weren't going to date and continued not dating for six months.
The first time he proposed was on our way home from his grandpa's funeral, he just asked me to marry him and I told him I wanted him to ask my dad, etc. So he went and talked to my dad who thought it was a joke and gave him permission then on our six month anny he woke me up and asked me if I was thirsty. Then he ran down to get me a drink and I could hear him go out to his truck and open the door. I knew something was up. He came upstairs and asked me to close my eyes so i did. Put the ring on my right hand, and then my phone started ringing (it was my mom) so he picked it up and yelled stop calling. After two more attempts to propose and 6 phone calls from my mom. I couldn't stop laughing and finally told him I would marry him! Seven months later we were married and we have been married for almost 8 months!

ok well tim had told me after about 8months i was the girl hed marry one day and then in 2006 for christmas he got the ring it was suppossed to be a suprise but his mom told me and ruinned it all and she showed it to me and at that piont i was crying so he followed me in the kitchen said im sorry and when i turned to hug him he was on one knee and asked me...i said yes and he put it on it was 2 sizes too big and when i went outside and moved my hand it flew off my finger we had everyone in the apartment come to find out it had landed in my sweater sleave...lol... so the puroposal sucked i was mad she ruined everything and and then he told me how he had planned to do it and i wanted to kill her for ruining it... but needless to say weve been married for just over a year...

I had been talking to my boy on the phone and online for about 8 months. We hadn't even met in person yet. I called him up one night when I was at a show seeing our favorite band. I was smashed and I was singing to him. I said somethin like hey you wanna get married? And he said hell yea.
The next month he came up here to go to a show with me. He told everyone that night that we were going to get married and started introducing me as his wife. I still didn't realize he was serious. lol.
Flash forward to Dec he came home for leave. I picked him up 5 minutes after he got to NH to go to a punk rock show. We walked in the door and were just standing in the middle of the place. I turned to say somethin stupid to him and he cupped my face in his hands and said "I want it to be you and me. For good. I'm really asking you. Will you marry me." I won't ever forget the look in his eye when he said that.

ok well the full story goes like this. scott and i started dating when i was 16 he was 17, 2 days after our one year he left for basic. that was in march. at the end of july we were having a lot of problems and desided to take a break from each other. over labor day weekend he was home on leave and posted on myspace that he was have a bbq and who ever wanted to come should just show up. well i did. lol we talked some and then ended up just hanging out as friends. well as the night went on we got more and more flirty. at one point he left the room then called my cell phone and told me to meet him in his room, before i even got all to the door (probably so he wouldnt chicken out) he had pushed me against the wall and started making out with me. he went home with me that night. and well now we have rylie.

anyways. we got back together, and at the end of dec we were having problems again. we spilt on jan 3, we were apart for over a year until may the following year. we started talking on the phone everyday, to spend every weekend together, to staying nights together. did things slow kinda. well at the beginning of aug 08 we were talking about getting married and desided we would wait so we could have a big wedding. one monday when he was driving back to work (at like 1 am) he text me saying that he didnt want to leave me to go to work, that he wanted to be able to come home to me everyday, and that he wanted to marry me now.

2 weeks later we were married.
