So Kevin just recently informed me that pretty much right after our move to italy thaaaat he's going to be offshore for like three monthes....which means...i'm going to be living in italy completely by myself...no i will not be on base...we chose to live in the city bc its loser to the ship. but i don't know how to handle it, even though its to be expected. i was still hoping for a little time to be married. any insight?

Wow Italy. I'd say, try to keep a positive outlook on it and get to know your new home. Show Kevin how strong you really are (he will be proud when he gets home to see how well you've done) and if you need to complain just come to us! Make a point to go out and find some friends. Be active, go out...

haha I know Kevin be strong and go out and find a cooking job in Italy but make sure he knows u miss him! it is ok to b strong but dont make him feel like he isnt needed, i mean it is Kevin lol.

or u could not move to italy and stay in the states and work while he is gone...but Bev and i will be in NC so it might not be as fun when we are that far away.

Well, spend at least one of those months just sightseeing. Italy is gorgeous, go see the sights, eat good food, have a good time. Then, focus on meeting people. There is an army base there, and I assume it will always be open to you, correct? Meet people there, meet new people in Italy. A lot of people in other countries speak English, so even if you speak no Italian, getting by shouldn't be that hard. But there's another thing you could do while he's away, learn (or perfect) Italian. :) Just keep yourself busy, I know it's disappointing to be so close but so far, but at least it's a gorgeous place to be separated from him...and it is only 3 months.

And remember, you always have us. We know it's hard. We all know separation all too well. And we're always here for you. Even if you don't get internet in your house/apartment right away, Italy's developed enough to have internet cafes or libraries (Starbucks with wifi, probably, lol) so you can keep in touch. Then, before you know it, Kevin will be back with you and you can enjoy Italy together!
