First off,
My apologies for being a little MIA -
I got back from my wonderful weekend with Christopher, but my best friend's grandfather passed away while I was out of town so I spent most of the week with her and her family allowing with the typical viewing/visitation and then funeral - not to mention I am completely stressed out with work and school, so I have been pretty physically and emotionally drained lately - STRESSED OUT to say the least; so please if I am missing don't hesitate to reach me via my cell phone or fcbk. (if you need either one PM me).
BUT
I need you're ladies' help!! haha. Christopher wants to go away for a vacation for our anniversary this April - so it will probably still be not quite warm yet for the most part, and he wants me to come up with some ideas. Well I am STUCK! Haha, I am laid back and so happy with him that I don't care where I go or what we do as long as I am away from home and with him!! But my question to you ladies is what are some brilliant ideas you all have?!! :beggin::
I don't have full details yet like for how long, in country or out of, or budget - I'm waiting for him to answer that question lol. Anywho ANYTHING would tremendously help!! Get those thinkers going!!! :chinscratch:
Thanks loves!!

I have been on three cruises and it's really the best deal for your money. Everything is included in the price of your cruise, except your drinks. (But there are ways to make that cheap) My favorite one was a Southern Caribbean cruise I was on. We left out of San Juan, PR and went to St. Maartin, St. Thomas, Curaco & Grand Caymen. St. Maartin and Curaco were GORGEOUS, my fave stops out of everywhere I have been. I've been to Jamacia, Haiti, Cozumel, and Costa Maya. All my cruises are Royal Caribbean. I know people that have done both Carnival and RC, and RC has always had favorable reviews and I have never had a problem with them. There are tons of things to do on the ships, I can promise you that you will never be bored. And you can do everything at your own pace. If you wanna sit by the pool, go for it. If you wanna get involved in the Horse Races, go for it. Also, I would suggest you get a lower inside cabin. They are the cheapest and for the amount of time you are in your room, the price is worth it. I have copies of all my cruise compass' (the ininerary, they give you daily) if you want, I can scan them and email to you in PDF format. There is always a show at night, you can either attend or not. We didn't go to a lot of them because they just didn't interest me. If you go on a 7 day, you will have two formal nights at dinner. Dinner is the same way, you can either do the dinner in the formal diningg room or you can go to the cafe. Your choice. Formal is anywhere from evening gowns and tuxedos to a suit and a cocktail dress. The choice is yours. When booking a cruise, you can opt to sit in the dining room for the early sitting or the later sitting. While one group is eating dinner, the other is at the show and vice versa. My suggestion, pick the later seating for dinner, the old people are in the early sitting because they go to bed early. Also, you opt to sit at a table for 2, 4, 6 or 8. We chose the 8. Those are your table mates the entire week. The cruise line is good about sitting you with people who are your age group and a lot of the times, your nationality. Our last one we were sat with these people who were Italian and we figured that they sat us there because the couple we were with had a very italian last name. They were nice people and we had a lt of fun. The first one my ex husband I went on, they sat us with two other couples who were our age. We actually hung around with them the entire week. Let me know if you want to know anything else.

I've also done a few cruises and ours were always princess. I do think royal caribbean is cheaper but I went with my family who after research decided princess was the better boat because it "wasnt as trashy". But thats just there opinions. Def. look at the different packages! Plus when u are in port there are soooo many activitied to choose from! Also if you guys wanna kinda get away and not have screaming kids everywhere make sure u are not going around spring break but also we went to alaska on a cruise and that was a lot more adult orientated and weren't as many screaming kiddies. Last year we went to the carribean during spring break and it was INSANE! honestly couldnt get away from screaming children/parents but there was also tons of college kids there to just get wasted.... which was very entertaining to watch! haha I just heard about a mexican cruise that I really wanted to do that had Cabos and Puerto Vallerta on the itenerary. I would say go to mexico wether its a cruise or just picking a place to go. I love mexico and have been to Puertto Vallerta and Cancun and its gorgeous! You could always look at an all-inclusive resort!
Nick and I were talking about our honeymoon options and he really liked the idea of Italy, Ireland, Spain, and Germany. He also talked about going to Iceland too. I was excited about Ireland - because they speak English. But in America - I thought San Francisco and going to the wine vineyards would be really neat. But I don't know what you'd be interested in :). I've been on a cruise, too. We went to Key West, Cozumel, and a day at sea. It was a lot of fun. In fact, my parents are on a cruise right now to Mexico!

I am not sure about other cruise lines, but RC has a section that is for adults only. Adult pool, hot tubs and lounge area. They are also pretty good about providing activities for kids so they are not all over the place. But it's really up to the parents. As for the amount of kids, it really doesn't matter when you go. There are kids at all times of the year. If you do decide a cruise, I would say stay away from Norwegan(sp) and there is another one, Not Princess, but another one, they have a lot of older people on them and that's just no fun. RC has a really good mix of older people and younger people. All in all, they are what you make of them. I will get those things and get them scanned and get them to you.

Princess has an adult only section and obviously the night life is more for adults. I was just saying that during like spring break/summer/winter theres more kids as opposed to going in like september when everyone is back to school and parents want to get into a schedule. I felt that going during prime spring break a lot of the parents were on vacation too and half of them were too wasted to care what their kids were up to. I was on the princess that had the big screen on the top deck and they'd do a kid movie and then an adult movie and the was always fun. But like I said Alaska didn't have a bunch of running and screaming kids non-stop and was a much smaller cruise. But I guess when most people think vacation they think warm and honestly the Alaskan cruise was aimed more for older people.... Like my grandma lol... I played a lot of bingo on that cruise haha but then when u dock and at the ports theres all sorts of things to do and u may or may not being doing things with people on ur particular cruise. I only mentioned the thing about kids because I figure you guys are looking for a more intimate setting... I think there are some adult only cruise lines out there but I haven't been.... Like I said you are going to have to do a lot of looking around to decide which is the best for you because theres also different lengths and places and if you are at sea more than your at port you will want a ship with LOTS of activities but if your porting every day than what is on the ship will only really matter for night activities!
Christy I think the other cruise line you are talking about is Carnival.... my aunt was telling us stories about girls getting raped by crew members and "disappearing" and I'm pretty sure it was the cruise line and she was telling us not to like party/hang with the crew members. And I want to ammend my last post because I think it was the Carnival cruise line she said was trashy and was basically a big party boat (so us going with 2 grandmothers and 2 kids under 10 not such a good idea!) Just do your research and you'll find one thats perfect for you two!

I've heard about that! You never party with the crew on any cruise line! That's just asking for trouble!

they say the same thing about hotels and resorts!
alright being here in TX i will tell you (as far as mexico goes) they're saying to stay out of Cancun now.. its gone bad bad with gangs and stuff.. TJ is getting there, but Cozumel is still wonderful, beautiful, and reasonably priced! (plus it should be pretty warm)
if you were looking for a beachy, non-site-seeing kind of place
