Need to Vent

Sooo..I was at a bar this past weekend hanging out with some old friends and I saw this guy there that I haven't seen in like 4 years. Well we were catching up and I told him I was dating a Marine and he's currently deployed to Afghanistan right now. Well...he had to nerve to talk down about him (he knew him back in the day) being in the Marines and also told me that when he was in the army and deployed only half of the men came back! Okay so serously, why the hell would he say something like that to me!! I was soo pised! I wanted to slap him!

I know this isn't any help but you're probably going to get that a lot. People are a little insensitive when it comes to that stuff. Or it's something they think is cool and it makes you a nervous wreck. Sometimes I think they enjoy getting you upset and other times I honestly think they don't think they're being stupid or rude... I had a guy tell me once that Mike was a good man to be a soldier but he hoped he came home alive...like my husbands been in Iraq for 13 months...thanks for your optimism. My best advice is even as mean and hurtful as it can be just let it roll off your back! No need to get upset over ignorant mean people!!

I've noticed this alot about different branchs is they do talk down about other branchs. espically the guys. between the army and marines. ive kinda gotten to the point that i just push it away. im sorry he got to you. but try to just let it go, and try to to worry so much. it will just make time go by even slower.
