I'm sorry ladies, but I am not quite sure where to put this one. I guess current events is a good a place as any. I am not sure where I saw this so if one of you ladies posted this already, my apologies.

This is the Congressional Budget for Healthcare. It is very scary, especially for me because I have a special needs child that is in and out of the doctors. If you open the link, click on PDF. The information on tricare is on page 187. Please read what they are going/trying to do to tricare.

OKay I didn't pour through it and get every detail, but I cant complain too much about having to pay a little for insurance. Free insurance is an insane deal.

I imagine we will hear more about this before anything big happens either way.

Hopefully it will be OK. Right now we don't pay anything and that's great but I also have to drive quite a ways for a DR. I would be willing to pay a little to get one closer to me.

I do agree with Vicky. We have a good thing going right now with not having to pay for Tricare Prime, but with my daughter's medical bills, they all add up really fast. I read in there something about a max of $500 or something like that which would be fine if they worked it out over the entire year, but for a one time payment there is no way we could afford it. We could make that up in one month. I don't know. I guess it depends on what is going on with the family as to whether it is a good deal or not.

I know I really shouldn't complain since it is such a good deal and I don't know of any insurance (other than medicaid I guess) that would give such a deal.

as a reserve John and I for the two of us pay about 182 a month for tricare and get our own doctors. It stays the same price for us and up to six kids. I think it is a pretty good deal. However I know active it is free...
We also only have to pay 1,000.00 out of pocket which over a year is quite a bit for the two of us but with all of my medical bills last year it didn't end up being so bad...

I pay 134.00 a month for my insurance for just me. And, I have a 1000.00 deductable and a 35.00 co pay and the coveage is 70/30. Going to the Dr. is not worth it for me, however, I have to have insurance. Feel lucky. LOL

Wow Christy, I do feel extremely lucky and more so after reading what you have to pay. I got 2 scripts Monday, one for anti nausea and some vicoden for $6. I certainly will try to never complain again about my insurance. Thanks for putting things in perspective.

I wasn't trying to say it like that. LOL Insurance is so expensive anymore. But it's one of those things you have to have. Ugh!
