My sister just left for basic training this morning :( she is staying in a hotel tonight and then they are leaving in the morning. She sent me a text freaking out because one of her guy friends told her to not take any vaccines because it could make her sterile or hurt her future baby.
Does anybody know anything about this? I didn't think that anything they gave you would be like that but like I said she is freaking out, and asked if I would ask you ladies :) she also says HI...LOL
Thanks
I am sure she will be fine. It is the normal vaccines that we routinely get as booster, I am sure. I know my DH got flu and small pox, not sure what other vaccines he got.

I've never heard of this! not once! I haven't gotten the HPV vaccine 'cause it was tested with tattoo needles and not hypodermic ones so I'm waiting to have it done, but I've never heard of shots that the army gives out having that effect. She'll be ok... tell her to beat who ever told her this ;) (not really beat him but yeah hehe you know what I mean)

oh and there will be one heck of a beating :) LOL
Geez, every medication on the earth practically has a side effect of infertility. But they're just side effects, and the side effects to most medications are slim to none.
I'd tell her not to worry about it.
