When did your man send you a copy of his dogtags? or hasn't he?

Zach sent me mine when he was in boot, he said that was the deciding factor as to who he pursued (he was thinking about dating a girl he and i both know but had no idea how i felt about him). :) I haven't taken them off since I got them (except for :sexin: cause they tangle if we don't)

chris gave me a gold plated set when we first got together. he said he bought them in basic (3 years before me) for the girlfriend he may never have. sweet, right? :) i have them in my car. i dont wear the other set he gave me, cause the baby tries to strangle me with them.

he gave em to me right away :) and when he was in iraq he mailed me another pair along with a sweet letter :) i have one of em on the build a bear he sent me dressed in an army uniform and beret!

Levi has another set, but he was told to always have a second set. He's getting a special set made just for me when he gets back from this month of training.

I got my set during Family weekend between Basic and AIT. They go with me everywhere.

he gave them to me right before we desided we were going to get married. i went to spend the weekend with him in san diego, and he gave them to me right before i left.

right now there hanging from the lap next to my bed. i only wear them when im having a bad day and i wanna feel close to him cause rylie trys to get me to eat them.

Matt gave me his original set when he got his 2nd set for Iraq. It was a few months before they deployed. I have the promise ring he gave to me in high school on them and I wear them everyday. I also have one the dog tags we had made as wedding gifts hanging from my rearview mirror. They make me feel safe and much closer to him. I'm so proud of my hubby and I like to show it off by always having them with me

Before I answer...any of you girls using them as mirror hangers: pleasepleaseplease don't put ones with his social security number on there. One smash and grab means identity theft. I'm nervous enough just wearing them.

I got mine when he sent them halfway through Basic. Then I switched the chain out with a heavy duty necklace (I'm REALLY hard on jewelry) after I broke the original chain...twice >.< I wear them every day, except when I'm swimming, working out, or we're having sex (then both sets go on the nightstand together. Kinda romantic, in my opinion.)

D gave me his originals a long time ago. Now he's got multiple sets so I've got multiple sets too. Scary thing is I lost one of them one time (like not the whole set but like one on a set) the small chain must have broke or something because I just looked down and there was only one.

awww man. Christy you just made me realize that i left mine that kelly made me at home :( along with many other things like MY MAKEUP AND MY MOUSEPAD, and my chair lol

so...The day Jordan came home to "ask" me to b his girl (he didnt want to ask on AIM or over the phone) was Thanksgiving day so I then had a few days to try and get them yes i did try to get them and he kept taking them away! They night that he had to go he gave them to me...so i had to work to keep them and in the end he just gave them to me! I believe that they were the ones he used in boot. When he came home from his first deployment he gave me the tag that was on his boot thru 7 months in Iraq(it is a funny color) I now have the promise ring he gave me on my b-day right before he left with that tag. We all think he gave me the promise ring b/c he didnt want me going to college as a freshmen with out letting everyone know that i was taken...it was a ring or a tattoo across my forehead stating property of a US Marine...i took the ring and the best part is he gave me another "promise" ring for this deployment! I would like to say that would be a tradition he goes on a deployment and gives me a ring with a promise to come home safely but I dont want him to go on another deployment!

well i mentiond it to james before he first came up to ohio to meet me, and he said he was going to get copies made, i didnt expect him to actually give them to me the first time meeting me haha, he gave them to me the day he was leaving to go back to NC =[ and i wear them EVERYDAY, ALL DAY, i rarely take them off, it was after a while that he told me that they are the pare that went to iraq with him, so im not allowed to loose them!! which i wouldnt want to anyways lol

i dont have any...hes been in for almost 4 years, it doesnt really matter to me one way or the other, honestly id rather have a keychain, and lovin my soldier decal on the car!

I think the tag thing depends on your soldier. Some of them are superstitious and won't let go of their tags. Josh gave me his when he asked me to marry him. It's the set he got in basic. I wear them around my neck so that they stay close to my heart at all times and when I get sad or anything other than just totally happy the little tink tink reminds me that somebody special loves me. Speaking of military superstitions have any of you ladies heard the one about leaving your christmas tree up until new years?
