So awhile back when I was looking for care package ideas and what not for Matt, I came across a site that I believe was talking about "adopting" a soldier. Please don't get mad or offended if that's not what it is called--I thought that's what the site said.

Anyways,

I was wondering if any of you knew about this? and know where I can get more information ( I don't remember where I saw this site). I am def. interested in doing it!!

Thanks Ladies :)

I can ask my mom, she did something similar to it sort of. She sent a package and a letter to a soldier but it didn't work out quite like a pen pals thing like I think she was hoping it would. Shes taken up on sending Mike tons and tons of stuff for him and his buddies instead lol. But I'll still ask her if you want me to!! I know my gf had a hard time finding a site that seemed like a legit place to "adopt" a soldier. My guys aren't over there yet but I'm sure we have someone here who can email an FRG leader for the name of a soldier whose not getting much or anything at all from home.

there is a site, called adoptaussoldier.org.
my hubby is registered on it, and a summer camp adopted him, and a girl scout troop.

That's the site I've used. It's really cool. It has people from all branches and you can see different info and get updates. But they don't always write back. It just matters who you're writing to.

I did a couple things like that. I did a adopt a platoon. It allowed me to send more stuff, and a better chance of getting contact back too. My platoon had alot of women in it, so I know it sounds silly but I was sending all kinds of stuff, from fem hygene, to body wash etc.. It was great.
