Currently Attempting the Art of Crochet

BUT....I can only do a chain stitch...then i try to go up a level and as i go up the rows get shorter and i end in a triangle lol........and then im too busy laughin at that and at patches tryin to steal my yarn......i think i best get some help before i do this more than 4 times!

lol! Go to the library and get a how-to book? Or a few... thats what I did! Although I still havent mastered it! There is always youtube!

i have been watching youtube! jamie thinks im hilarious! lol...and still they keep comin out in triangles!!! im gonna ask my mom this weekend maybe she can help hahahhaha....but im a master at the chain stitch :P

lol you get triangles because you lose a stitch in each row or sometimes more. If you count to yourself while you do it you should get squares!

Well that is more than I can do!! I give anyone props who can crochet. I really am horrible. My mom tried to teach me but I suck.

Yeah sounds like you're loosing some. I'd check out The crochet book in the stitch and bitch series. I'll get a link to it in a moment, but it's an awesome book that shows you how to do it really really well!

Its called "The Happy Hooker" lol. The book is awesome though, and has some cute patterns!

i got that book! erin told me about it on FB! i also went to hobby lobby and got a kit that came with all different size hooks and a book,ect.

i got the chain stitch and single crochet, and kinda iffy on the double crochet.
i found a pattern online for a scarf usign ONLY single crochet so im working on that now lol. i got tired of making nothing, so im givin this a whirl. but that book is really awesome!

we'll see where i end up- i jumped ahead of myself a week ago and thought i could make a hat but i was WRONG...i made a hat...big enough for a barbie!
