Hey ladies,
Just a friendly reminder that you have to give to receive! There's a line in Mash (i know i know roll your eyes at me) that I always think pertains to us cause it's "gotta write em to get em" (referring to letters).
I think we're all a little guilty of this, myself included lately! I know I get wrapped up in my own life and with Mike deploying I'm feeling a little, oh hell, a lot down lately. I know it's hard to support others when you're feeling down yourself but just remember if we can't help one another than who can??
If you're feeling like you're not getting the response to the posts that you write remember that you have to give to get. You have to offer your shoulder once in awhile for people to feel like they want to be there for you. I know it's selfish but why should I help you when you not only don't help me, but you don't help anyone else either?? Not only that but if you're always down all the time (which is hard not to be when your other half is half a world away - we all understand that) but you're not much fun! lol. So try to post something fun and upbeat once in awhile. Even if it's a silly confessional, or just a nice chain email you got, or a funny picture of you with a smile on your face! Something to help all of us smile! We rely on one another to keep our chins up and get through the crap the military throws at us.
As I stated in a note to first deployment'ers if you let yourself fall into that hole it's realllllly hard to get out and the only way to do it is to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and say fuck this I can do it and just do it even if it hurts or makes you cry. Deployments, separations, LIFE isn't easy. So hang in there and try to support one another!
Danie's "Feel Old?" (45 life lessons) post had a great line that I've been living by lately.."However good or bad a situation is, it will change." Anyway, take one day at a time!
So just remember you gotta give to get and you just gotta keep moving! And remember we're all here to help one another through the military life!
Love you ladies!!
