I think I was a serial killer in a past life... Seriously. I have such bad luck in this one, I had to have done something atrociously bad in a past life or something. It's either that, or someone up there has just decided that they enjoy fucking with me for their own enjoyment.
And I apologize for my language, which will probably quickly deteriorate, cause I'm seriously about to lose it. Erik took his PT test today, and he got disqualified on his pushups, which are, of course, the first section...so he put in little effort on the situps and running (which I'm not too happy about, but that's not really the point). His Sergeant takes him aside afterwards and smokes him. Really bad. Which, I kinda understand, but then he makes him do more pushups, run some more, etc...in the heat. To the point where people walking by told the Sergeant that he needed to let up and get Erik on an IV, cause he looked like he was about to collapse.
So, Sergeant finally lets him go...and Erik does not go to medical. Oh no, he goes back to the barracks and collapses. Which has got to be a fucking man thing. Stupid bigheaded ego-driven men. Who refuse to get medical attention when they need it. He's fine, by the way, but I am NOT happy.
And on top of this, him failing the PT test probably means that while the rest of you are enjoying Memorial Day weekend with your stateside soldier, I'll be curled up in bed alone. Great. Just fucking great. I know this is something that happens with the army, and I'm kinda mad at myself for even letting me get my hopes up. I should just know better. I know I sound bitter, and I'm sorry to all of you with a deployed soldier who are thinking I should just be glad he's in the US at all, but right now I'm just really upset and I needed to tell someone who would understand. And I know none of my civilian friends would get it.
