So I know some of you girls are having a really hard time dealing with deployment so I thought I'd give you one of my tricks that really helped me get through the last one.

SET GOALS!! Seriously set goals and really strive to meet them, before you know it your guy will be home. While Mike was away last time my major goal was to finish college, which had a bunch of school related mini goals built into it...and before I knew it school was over, I graduated and Mike came home!

I've already set my goals for when he leaves again:
1. lose 25 pounds
2. learn to use a sewing machine
3. paint/re do/upgrade my bedroom at my parents house to make it more suitable for a married couple/a "hang out room" for my brother (when I'm not home).. instead of the bedroom of a 16 year old girl
4. go back to school and get my masters

So for you girls who are going through deployments or about to start one...tell me about the goals you want to set for yourself! And by posting them here that means you promise to give a valliant effort to be sucessful at completing them! Myself, and all of you that post here, will be come :cheer: cheerleaders for each other. Check in on you, see how you're doing, and give you some support to get it done! (make sure you choose things that are atainable for YOU...not someone else)

I really think this will help you! So tell me about your goals!

I did the same thing. I know I had a really hard time the first couple months but I feel like I have hit a spot where I am okay with things now. Especially since I can talk to him more often and see his face.

But here are my goals:
Get my LNA license
Train in Tang Soo Do (so I can beat Tom up when he gets home haha)
Set up our new place and put aside money so we can get a new bed. We broke mine lol

I'm working 2 jobs all summer to eat up the time and save some money.

1. NOT get a C in nursing school (eek... B's are 85% or higher so wish me luck!)
2. Not cry myself to sleep EVERY night of the week
3. BEWARE of the alcohol lol
4. Stay in shape
5. Find a little way to remind him every day how much I love him

1.) Get rid of the FUNK on my skin before he gets home!
2.) Get over my fear of flying (never been on a plane...but I really wanna see J and go to Cali..I'm just scared shitless!!!)
3.) Get back into shape and loose the beer belly I have goin on.
4.) SAVE money! I'm so broke all the time and I can't blame it on the a-a-a-alcohol because I haven't been drinking the last 2 months thanks to the meds I'm still on.

I have 2 1/2 months left to do this...I need to start working on loosing the beer belly first..lol

My hubby hasn't left yet but here's what I'm planning to do.

Loose weight, I don't have an amount in mind but I'd love to go down a few sizes so I can buy some cute new clothes.
Payoff lots of bills
Finish painting the house
Trim the tree on our patio and plant some new stuff
Learn to cook some healthy but delicious meals
Go to Martial Arts regularly so I can finally move up a few belts
