Hello all!
Well, as of today we are one week down. It has been a hell of a week I can tell you that.
Monday: I was walking into the kitchen because the timer was going off on the stove. I was walking kind of fast and didn't pay attention to my daughter's step ladder was not put away. I kicked that stupid thing like there was no tomorrow, and ended up breaking my toe.
Tuesday: I had a four hour conversation with one of my husband's soldier's new wife about why they had to go to Afghanistan. The good news was I got to talk to my hubby and he made it to the half way point. He sounded really tired, but he said they had a coffee shop so he was happy.
Wednesday: Please bear with me...this was a looooooong day. My son was playing with his friend outside. His friend is not really one I want him playing with, but the kid doesn't really have any friends so I am trying to give him a chance. Anyway, I was looking out my door and I see my son on the kid's bike going really fast. Then the UPS truck went by. About thirty minutes later my son comes in saying this kid is stupid and he hates him. He said the kid tried to jump on the back of the UPS truck and fell on the ground so he was taking him home. They got about three blocks away where they saw the UPS truck again and the kid jumped on the UPS truck. The kid was caught. Fast forward three hours and the mom and kid showed up at my door saying the kid was going to be charged with 2nd degree misdemeanor tampering with federal documents. I asked if I should take my son to the MP's to make a statement and she said no because they were looking for my son and were going to charge him with the same thing even though he didn't touch the truck. She said she tried to keep my son out of it, but the UPS driver said my son and the kid followed her from my street. Then she said they had to go to court the next day and she would talk to me Thursday. I was freaking out!!! My son didn't do anything! I was awake the entire night waiting for the MP's to bust down my door. Needless to say, I didn't get any sleep that night.
Thursday: The kid's mom showed up and said everything was worked out and the kid got community service. My son was kept out of it. I was so relieved, but the whole thing didn't sound right. Everything she told me on Wednesday just didn't jive with what I knew. I don't know, I could be wrong but it seemed like she was really trying to scare my son. I have heard her son has had a few problems, but I don't know what they are. Hubby called before she showed up (when I was still scared half to death) to tell me he got to Afghanistan and I just blurted everything out. He was really mad. He said everything was really fishy. We didn't even get to finish the conversation because of the phone lines so the phone was disconnected when he was still really upset. I normally don't tell him what is going on at home because I don't want him to worry, but it all just came out. Later on that night my son went to Civil Air Patrol with the kid and I guess the kid was really disrespectful and causing a bunch of problems. I guess I will have to be much stricter on who he plays with. So much for giving chances.
Friday: Woo Hoo! Payday! Thank God this day was better. It was a nice break. We rented movies and stayed up all night.
Saturday: Feeling much better, even though I am worried about my hubby. Got some of my laundry done and ironed.
Sunday: Got some more laundry done. I love the smell of laundry just out of the dryer. My daughter and I went to the Commissary, which is a chore in and of itself. When we came home, my son ran out of the house freaking out. He said Mugsy, our black pug, had a tick behind one of his ears and when he tried to get it off, a bunch of ticks came out. I am not a bug person. I think there are only two worst kind of bugs in the world. Ticks and head lice. They just freak me the hell out. I finally got all of them off and gave him a bath. I really hope I got them all off because I am afraid to touch my dog now. Creepy little things!!!
Anyway, I'm sorry for the extremely long post but I haven't been on in awhile and I wanted to give you wonderful ladies an update. This deployment has hit me kind of hard right now and I am trying to stay busy. This up-coming week is going to be really busy. I just really hope it goes by really fast.
