I went to Big lots last week and saw some beautiful cushions but they were $25 each! I whipped out my trusty camera and took some pics then went home and proceeded to sew some up for myself. Total cost about $8 but I already had the fabric. Still it wouldn't be much more if you had to buy that also.

Do you do that?

Yup. After i went to a boutique clothing place for the kids and sow some of those outfits sold for like 50 bucks i bought a sewing maching. I just now go to some fabric to make some outfits and it may cost 50 dollars in total for like 5 outfits maybe but i think it will be a lot less. Its stupid how much they can sell crap for. I made a gun holster for 2 dollars. And still have enough to make about 4 more. When my hubby bought one for 20 haha.

Yes it is stupid but what is worse, are the stupid people that pay that much! You know what they say, you can't fix stupid! lol

I am impressed that you are sewing kids outfits though. When my daughter was a baby, I went all out. Bought the machine, got patterns, lots of cute fabric and sewed up a storm. Made jammies, a Christmas dress as she is my New year's Eve baby, tops and more.

I didn't know much but figured it out but when I was done I knew that I never wanted to make clothes ever again. I love to quilt but no clothes!

Haha. I just got into it. I'm hoping to do good on the clothes. I'm not going to make a whole bunch just some cute outfits because it is just so much easier to go to walmart and buy clothes haha. My hubby wants me to make a quilt. but it seems like it would take forever and i would get bored with it.....i might make one later with left over kids clothes or something but just not my cup a tea at them moment. haha

Yes it is easier but then all the kids are wearing the same things. When you make them they are unique and made with love. I kept a lot of my kids clothes and did just that. I made a quilt for our daughter with hers. Well. I've made the quilt top and am just waiting for her to come and help me put it together and tie it.

You can do it too. Start small. Make a quilt for the kids. You can do applique and it takes no time at all. Cade aka McDreamy and I made a quilt together his 2nd last year at high school and guess what he wanted as soon as he got to Germany. Yup the quilt. I shipped it to him and he was a happy camper. :} Quilts are always made with love and carry a lot of memories.
