I don't promise that this will be short...there is a lot to explain!!
First, we're not going to be updating post counts. :oops: To make a long story short, the other forum was depending on a few things to run, and when we moved it those things kinda...vanished. And when I say we, i mean me. So that forum is just kinda gone. :cryineyes: So, I'm sorry, but at least it isn't a race anyhow!! We will still make sure that everyone who was an established member still is now. And members on the old forum who weren't quite there yet only need to get to 50 posts here to get to established members. All new members will need to get 100 though.
Okay 2nd order of business...You might notice that a LOT has changed. We've moved some forums around, added some, deleted some. Overall, it's meant to be more organized and easy to maneuver. Over time I have no doubt that we will all get used to it. However, we have changed the permission settings on a lot. In order to make the forum more appealing to newcomers, many of the boards are viewable to guests. We figure this accomplishes a few things. Firstly, when guests are looking at our forum they will see that we are active, and friendly...Second, google will be able to index the forums easier, meaning higher rankings (and then more people)
The forums that are not viewable to guests are as follows:
War News
Love and Sex
Women's Health
Established Member Chat and Vent
Debate
Confessional
The picture albums are also not viewable by guests.
We are going to keep the forums as open as possible without having really personal information out there. But you have to keep in mind what forum you are posting on. If you have a concern about this, please feel free to PM me, or send me a yahoo message or e-mail...whatever.
And the last order of business. Many of the moderators on the old forum are busy doing stuff with their loved ones, so they missed the post on the old forum...Any previous mods...PM me.
We've tried to set this up in the past, but haven't really followed through with it. However, this is how the moderators will work this time!! Moderators will choose 2 or 3 forums to be in charge of. They will be responsible for keeping the forum active by posting new topics, replying when others post, and just keeping the conversations going in general.
If you are interested in being a moderator, please let me know and tell me what forums you are interested in moderating!!
I think that's it...if you were an established member before but don't have access know, let me know. I'm sure I've missed a few people, and my memory sucks. Or if you think you should have access in general, let me know. Heck, just let me know if you're having any issues.
And please bear in mind that we are still setting up some things. We have more plans for this forum!!
Oh and seriously, this is the very last thing, if you have any suggestions for the forum please let us know! This site isn't perfect, so we're always ready to add on!!
