I know that when my friends grandmother was dying they brought him home to see her and for the services. Is it all immediate family they would do that for? Like aunts/uncles etc?

They only let them come home if it is parents/spouses/children. Grandparents are allowed if it was the grandparents who raised them.

i guess it kinda makes sence that they would only do it with immedited family. it sucks. but it makes sence.

I checked with Jason and he said that it's immediate family only. Parent/Sibling/Spouse/Child. In-laws are not included in this. However, he did say that you can always try to get approval for Emergency Leave is the missions allow for it. But unless it's immediate family, it's not likely.

Thanks girls. Everything has settled down but 2 of the boys family members were in very serious condition as of yesterday and none of us knew if the boys would be allowed to come home. They are both fine as of this morning thankfully.

Unfortunately, It's only immediate family. :(
I'm sorry about your friend's loss though.
